Devon Rice registered a goal and assisted on another to lead the visiting SUNY Geneseo Knights to a 4-1 victory over the host Morrisville State Mustangs in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) hockey action Saturday night in Morrisville. With the win, Geneseo improves to 6-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play, while the Mustangs drop to 1-11-1 overall and 1-7 in SUNYAC action.

Freshman defender Anthony Scornaienchi (Stoney Creek, Ont.) registered two goals and assisted one to lead host Morrisville State College to a 5-4 come from behind victory over the visiting SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) hockey action Friday night in Morrisville.

Junior guard Jailaan Kinsey (Syracuse, N.Y.) netted a team high 13 points as host Morrisville State College men’s basketball topped visiting SUNY ESF 93-34 in non-conference action in Morrisville. The win boosts the Mustangs to 3-2 overall, while ESF, a first year program, falls to 0-5.

The Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) at Morrisville State College is offering a one-day workshop on anaerobic digestion (AD), Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the RETC bioenergy lab in Galbreath Hall, room 148. This beginner-level course covers the status of AD in New York state, basic AD system components, AD biological and chemical processes, preventative and corrective maintenance of the engine-generator set and system, and future opportunities in the field.

The Morrisville State College men’s basketball team used a late 14-3 second half run to top visiting Keystone College 94-90 Tuesday night in non-conference action in Morrisville. The victory pulls the Mustangs even at 2-2, while Keystone drops to 1-3 overall.

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named western equestrian rider Rebecca Brunecz (Sugar Grove, Pa.) and men’s basketball forward Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 18. Brunecz assisted Morrisville State to reserve and high point team honors in two shows on Sunday, topping all competition twice in the intermediate western horsemanship II class to record the blue ribbons.

A group of Morrisville State College students traveled to Waterville, Maine to help local dairy farmers and learn more about the industry. The 21 students were part of the Northeast Regional Dairy Challenge, an innovative three-day event which promotes the future of the dairy industry. They joined more than 100 other students from nine northeast colleges and two Canadian universities.

Host Oswego State men’s basketball claimed the 2012 Max Zeil Tournament Title Saturday night, posting a 83-59 victory over Morrisville State College. The Mustangs, who opened the season Friday with a 87-59 defeat of Medgar Evers, drops to 1-1 overall with the loss.

Under direction of new head coach Steve Kaneshiki, Morrisville State is looking to utilize some new faces to move the program forward. The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian hosted two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) events over the weekend, earning team reserve championship honors at both, just points shy of show champion Skidmore. On Saturday, Skidmore recorded 43 team points to claim the show’s top honor, while Morrisville State came in second with 35, narrowly beating Hartwick who registered 33 points on the day.
