B.Tech. program graduates are prepared to enter public and industrial jobs at the field, supervisory and management levels. Career paths include environmental specialist, firefighter, arborist, ranger, environmental planner, environmental protection specialist, fire control specialist, forester, fish and wildlife technician and wetland management.

Put that green thumb to work. As a student in our Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree program in horticulture business management, you’ll start with a hands-on education in horticulture and grow into an entrepreneur-based approach to owning or operating a horticulture-related business.

The SUNY Morrisville Bachelor of Science degree in sustainable resource management prepares you to become a transformative leader in resource planning, as you will learn to build a better tomorrow by applying adaptive resource management skills to help create solutions for today’s complex environmental and sustainability challenges.

As an A.A.S. program graduate, you are qualified to work in hatcheries, aquariums, fisheries and environmental science facilities in fields such as fish and wildlife technician, fish hatchery technician, hatchery manager, aquarist, culturist, aquaculture sales and marketing, aquaculture diver, cultivation technician, fish health technician, fisheries biologist, water treatment technician/analyst, aquatic biology or ecology, environmental protection resource assistant and educational aquarist.

Depending on the concentration you choose, A.A.S. program graduates are prepared to work in careers in various disciplines including greenhouse operator/grower, floral designer, flower shop manager, wholesale florist, farm and garden store owner/manager, landscape/lawn technician, nursery operator/grower, maintenance supervisor of public grounds, public gardener, golf course superintendent, horticultural products and greenhouse equipment salesperson, wholesale grower and equipment supply representative.

Depending on your interest and concentration, as an A.A.S. program graduate you are prepared to work in a variety of fields including parks, forestry, arboriculture, fisheries, wildlife management, soil conservation service, conservation officer, forestry technician, forest ranger, environmental consultant and water/wastewater treatment plant operator.

They say variety is the spice of life, and we’ve got plenty of it with our environmental conservation degrees and facilities. Get hands-on with fish and marine life at the Aquaculture Center. Improve wildlife habitat at Owens West Wildlife Management Area. Cruise timber at Sadoff Woodlot. Hone your tree identification skills at the college arboretum. Maintain the Callahan Brook Nature Trail and learn about water quality in the headwaters of the Chenango River.
