The SUNY Morrisville horticulture Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program provides hands-on training to help students nurture their love for growing and working with plants — whether in a greenhouse, flower shop, farm or elsewhere.

With concentrations in landscape management, horticulture production and general transfer, our A.A.S. program is one of SUNY Morrisville’s time-honored degree tracks. You will learn in premier facilities with faculty who have been recognized by both the college and the SUNY system for their exceptional work as educators.
Required courses emphasize an immersive approach that leverages technology and innovation. Learn by doing in our Four Seasons Farm, a certified organic farm that provides hands-on educational experience through year-round crop production. You will also visit some of the most important industry sites and trade shows, including the nation's largest horticultural event, the annual Philadelphia Flower Show.
When it comes time to foster industry experience and seek your first job, you’ll benefit from SUNY Morrisville’s affiliations with the Society of American Florists, the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association.
After earning your degree, expand your studies through SUNY Morrisville’s horticulture business management Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program.

Skills You Will Gain
Upon earning your A.A.S. degree, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of green industry practices such as plant materials and their landscape uses, specialty crop production, plant physiology, plant protection and pesticide use and handling
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the fields of landscape management, specialty crop production systems and greenhouse management
