You are someone who can look at a clean sheet of paper, a blank screen or a raw material and imagine the possibilities. You see how lines and numbers and formulas can transform into buildings, machines, furniture and gardens. You know that the combination of bright ideas and good labor produces something you can be proud of.

SUNY Morrisville has programs in mechanical engineering technology and residential construction, all designed to help you create an education and a career that is a perfect fit.

Mechanical Engineering Technology A.A.S.

Associate degree (2-year)

Our A.A.S. program prepares students to enter manufacturing or allied industries in career areas including engineering technician, engineering aide, quality and production control, plant engineering technician, laboratory technician, mechanical design, metal working, foundry industries, CAD drafter/designer and product designer.

Residential Construction A.O.S.

Associate degree (2-year)

Graduates can pursue a variety of careers in the homebuilding industry including contractor, entrepreneurship, materials purchasing, estimator, foreman, project manager, real estate, development, retail and wholesale building materials sales/management and product manufactures representative.

Facilities

Residential Construction Laboratory

A 6,000-square-foot residential construction laboratory contains framing, plumbing and heating, masonry and electrification labs. Students also have access to a variety of finish-carpentry facilities and a computer lab with AutoCAD and LandCADD software.

Wood Products Technology Center

The 14,000-square-foot Wood Products Technology Center includes a furniture laboratory with production and woodworking equipment, a Model #40 Thermwood CNC router, Weinig Profimat #26 Super Moulder, knife grinding equipment, furniture production equipment and two Saw Stop table saws to increase student safety. The center also includes a primary processing laboratory with a WoodMizer LT 300 band mill and a state-of-the-art SII Dry Kiln complete with computer interface.

Clubs, Activities and Competitions

Architecture Club

Organized to promote excellence in architectural education, training and practice, the Architecture Club fosters an appreciation of architecture through a variety of community service opportunities, tours of architectural firms and travel experiences.

Woods Sports Team

All students also are welcome to join our nationally recognized Woods Sports Team, where you can learn traditional woods skills while competing against other colleges throughout New York State, as well as regionally and nationally.
