The Morrisville State College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) in conjunction with the college’s CSTEP program will be hosting a “Be the Match” Bone Marrow Drive, Thursday, Nov. 29.
The effort is designed to connect patients suffering with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma or other diseases, with a donor match for a life-saving marrow transplant. Every year, 10,000 patients need a marrow transplant from an unrelated donor, but only half receive one.
The event will run from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Recreation Center on the Morrisville State campus and is a non-invasive procedure that only includes a cheek swab. For additional information on the event, contact the sports information office at 315-684-6250 or e-mail athletics@morrisville.edu.
