The Morrisville State College athletics department has named western equestrian rider Rebecca Brunecz (Sugar Grove, Pa.) and men’s basketball forward Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 18.
Brunecz assisted Morrisville State to reserve and high point team honors in two shows on Sunday, topping all competition twice in the intermediate western horsemanship II class to record the blue ribbons.
The graduate of Eisenhower High is majoring in equine science at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Sherri and Colin Brunecz of Sugar Grove.
Ater led the Mustangs to a 1-1 record on opening weekend, posting a total 36 points, seven rebounds and three steals. In the win over Medgar Evers, Ater tallied 22 points to lead Morrisville State to the win, adding five rebounds and three steals.
The junior is a graduate of Bishop Grimes High and is majoring in computer information systems at Morrisville State. He is the son of Persikila Depmac of Syracuse.
