Visiting Morrisville State College had five net double figures as they claimed third place at the Buffalo State College Men's Basketball Cole Tournament Saturday afternoon with a 77-49 rout of Keuka College in Buffalo. Morrisville State improves to 4-6 overall, while the Storm dropped to 1-8.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 18, naming Morrisville State College's Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) and Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) its women's and men's basketball players of the week. Townsend netted a collegiate best 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Mustangs' 73-63 loss to Brockport in non-conference action on Friday. She shot 50 percent from the floor and also went 4-for-6 from the free throw line while playing all 40 minutes of the contest.
The Morrisville State College men's basketball team fell short Friday night in the opening round of the Buffalo State College Cole Tournament, dropping a close 77-70 decision to Capital University in Buffalo. Morrisville State drops to 3-6 overall, while the Crusaders improved to 5-4.
Visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball shot a mere 21 percent in the second half as host SUNY Brockport picked up the 73-63 non-conference victory Friday night in Brockport. Morrisville State drops to 1-7 overall, while Brockport picks up just their second win of the season, improving to 2-7.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named sophomore forward, Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 11. Ater assisted the men's basketball team to a 1-1 week, tallying 28 points, 18 rebounds, five assists and four blocks in two games.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its players of the week for the week ending December 12, naming Morrisville State College sophomore Mickey Davis (Jamesville, NY) the men's basketball player of the week. Davis led Morrisville State to a 1-1 week, including a 66-55 win over NEAC rival Keuka College on Wednesday in which he nailed four 3-pointers and posted a team high 18 points to go along with six boards, three assists and three steals.
Visiting Hamilton College women's basketball used a 19-4 run in the second half en route to a 62-35 non-conference victory over Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 1-6 overall, while Hamilton pulls even at 4-4. Madie Harlem (Oneonta, NY) led all scorers with 20 points on the day, 12 in the second half, while adding six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Olivia Pimm (Clemsford, Mass.) added 12 points and grabbed six boards, while Dani Feigin (Scarsdale, NY) contributed nine.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named western equestrian team riders, Amanda Meyer (Equinunk, PA) and Paul Alexander (Truxton, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 4. Meyer topped all competition in the double show on Saturday, earning the blue ribbon in the intermediate II western horsemanship class in each show against riders from both Colgate University and SUNY Cobleskill. She also collected enough points to qualify for the Regional Championship Show held in March.
Visiting Keuka College women's basketball hit 8-of-15 from behind the arc and withstood a second half comeback attempt to outlast host Morrisville State College Wednesday night for the 63-50 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory. Morrisville State drops to 1-5 overall, 0-1 in conference play, while the Storm improve to 3-1, 1-0 in the NEAC.
