Sophomore Mickey Davis (Jamesville, NY) netted a team high 20 points to lead visiting Morrisville State College to a 78-68 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Saturday afternoon over host Penn State Berks in Reading. Morrisville State notches their sixth straight win to improve to 9-6 overall, and remain undefeated in conference play at 6-0. Penn State Berks drops to 2-11 with the loss, 2-5 in NEAC action.
Sophomore defenseman, James Jarvis (Pickering, Ont.) posted the lone tally for visiting Morrisville State College men's hockey as they dropped a 3-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) decision to third nationally ranked Plattsburgh Saturday night in Plattsburgh. Morrisville State fell to 3-14-1 overall, 2-7-1 in conference play, while Plattsburgh improved to 12-2-4, 7-1-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the final period as they posted a 5-3 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over host SUNY Potsdam Friday night in Potsdam. Morrisville State improves to 3-13-1 overall, 2-6-1 in SUNYAC play, while Potsdam drops to 6-9-2, 4-5 in conference action.
The Morrisville State College women's basketball team has joined the “Play 4Kay” team in an effort to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in support of cancer research, Saturday, February 11, 2012 as they host Cazenovia College at 3 p.m. Donations for the Mustangs efforts can be made online through their team page at www.play4kay.org/morrisville.
Determined to make a difference on the ice and in the community, the Morrisville State College men's ice hockey program will be hosting a Multiple Sclerosis Charity Game on Saturday, February 4 against conference rival SUNY Oswego. Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord; and can cause blindness, muscle weakness and coordination, trouble with balance, numbness as well as memory related problems. Currently there is no known cause or cure, only medication that slows the progress of symptoms.
