The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2011-12 men's basketball end of the season award winners, naming Morrisville State College sophomore forward Mickey Davis (Jamesville, N.Y. / Jamesville-DeWitt) the NEAC Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-5 forward led Morrisville State and the conference in scoring this season, averaging 17.9 points per game, while adding averages of 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Mustangs.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its 2011-12 Men's Basketball All-Conference and regular season awards, naming Morrisville State College's head coach Joseph Smith the 2012 Coach of the Year.
Smith, a native of Sherrill, N.Y., guided Morrisville State to an NCAA best 17-8 record in 2011-12, while finishing atop the conference's North Division with a 14-1 record, earning the Mustangs the top overall seed in the NEAC Championship Tournament.
The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 26 team points to claim third place at the Skidmore College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational on Saturday, in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore won the invite with 49 team points, followed by reserve high point team Hartwick with 31.

Morrisville State completed its 2011-12 schedule on Saturday, recording a NCAA best 17-8 record, and 14-1 record in conference play, topping the North Division. The Mustangs will face the winner of the Tuesday play-in game between Penn State Berks (9-5 NEAC) and Gallaudet (8-6), Saturday, February 25 at 4 p.m. on the Morrisville State campus.
The Morrisville State College men's basketball team wrapped up the regular season schedule Saturday afternoon, topping visiting SUNY IT 93-83 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Morrisville. Morrisville State improves to 17-8 overall and finishes atop conference play with a 14-1 NEAC record. SUNY IT concludes the season at 5-20 overall, 4-11 in conference action.

The Morrisville State College hockey team defeated SUNY Brockport in the final State University of New York Athletic Conference game of the season Saturday night, 2-1.
The Mustangs ended the season 5-17-1, 4-10-1 SUNYAC while the Golden Eagles were 9-13-3, 5-9-2 SUNYAC.
SUNY Brockport scored the only goal in the opening period of the game which was scored by Steve Sachman and assisted by Troy Polino.
The Morrisville State College women's basketball team concluded the 2011-12 season with a 68-61 loss to the visiting SUNY IT Wildcats Saturday afternoon in Northeastern Athletic Conference play.
The Mustangs finish at 10-15 overall, 8-9 in NEAC action while the Wildcats are now 20-4, 14-2 in the conference.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced last night that Morrisville State College is the host site of the 2012 Men's Basketball Conference Championship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26.
Morrisville State clinched the overall top seed in the tournament after finishing atop the North Division and defeating South Division champion, Penn State Harrisburg, in the two teams' divisional crossover contest in early February.
The Morrisville State College athletics department has named women's basketball guard Nijee Scott (Bronx, N.Y.) and men's basketball guard Andrew Lucio (Solvay, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 12.
Scott played a key role in a 3-0 record on the week for the women's team, averaging 14 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 4.0 steals per game for the Mustangs, while shooting 57 percent from the floor on 17-of-30 shots made.
