SUNY Geneseo skates past Morrisville State, 3-2

Morrisville State fell to SUNY Geneseo, 3-2 on Friday evening in State University of New York Athletic Conference action.



The Mustangs are now 4-19-1, and 3-11-1 in SUNYAC play while the Knights are 13-11-1, 7-8-1 SUNYAC.



Geneseo's Justin Scharfe scored just two minutes into the contest Morrisville State's Daniel Morello (Vaughan, ONT) answered with five minutes remaining in the period with the Mustangs first tally of the night, sending it into the break tied at one.



In the second period Geneseo scored two unanswered goals. Curtis Renaud (Carlisle, ONT) scored late in third to bring the Mustangs to within one, and with less than a minute remaining in the contest Morrisville State pulled Colin Breen for extra skater, but Geneseo held on for the win.



Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) recorded the loss in net for the Mustangs with 32 saves.



Morrisville State returns to the ice tomorrow hosting SUNY Brockport in their last game of the season. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
