The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its players of the week for the week ending December 12, naming Morrisville State College sophomore Mickey Davis (Jamesville, NY) the men's basketball player of the week.
Davis led Morrisville State to a 1-1 week, including a 66-55 win over NEAC rival Keuka College on Wednesday in which he nailed four 3-pointers and posted a team high 18 points to go along with six boards, three assists and three steals.
Davis followed that performance with a career high 35 points on 52 percent shooting (13-of-25) from the floor, while grabbing a team high nine rebounds in a 77-79 loss to non-conference opponent Clarkson on Friday.
Finishing the week averaging 26.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, Davis hit a total eight from downtown, playing nearly every minute. He currently leads the conference in scoring at 19.8 points per game.
The sophomore is a 2008 graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High. He is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State and is the son of Margaret and Mickey Davis of Syracuse.
