The Morrisville State hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 points to take home show reserve champion honors, along with Hartwick, at the Skidmore College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational Saturday in Saratoga Springs. Skidmore won the event with 49 team points, while Colgate and Cobleskill rounded out the top five with 32 and 26 points, respectively.

Morrisville State College women’s basketball fell in the season finale 86-63 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent and host SUNYIT Saturday afternoon in Marcy. The Mustangs complete the season with a 1-24 overall record, 1-16 in conference action. SUNY IT improves to 14-8 overall.

Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball used a 20-6 run in the opening minutes of the second period Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season with a 96-75 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host SUNYIT in Marcy. The Mustangs improve to 19-5 overall, 13-2 in conference play, while the Wildcats drop to 9-16, 7-8 overall in NEAC action.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced last night that Morrisville State College is the host site of the 2012-13 Men’s Basketball Conference Championship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24. Morrisville State clinched the overall top seed in the tournament after claiming the North Division regular season title for the second straight season.

Morrisville State College will host prospective students and their families during an open house on Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The college will offer a variety of activities designed to introduce students to Morrisville State College and assist them with their college search process.

Excitement looms as the Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team eyes the opening of the new season, looking to build off a program best 13-6 record last year that included a perfect 9-0 mark in conference action. Final preparations are underway for the 2013 season opener, scheduled next Friday against Chapman University in Orange, California.

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named junior forward, Mickey Davis (Syracuse, N.Y. / Jamesville-DeWitt) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 10. Collectively he tallied 34 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a steal in two games.

Visiting SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball posted 48 points in the second to top host Morrisville State College by a 79-49 final in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Tuesday night in Morrisville. The Mustangs drop to 1-23 overall, 1-15 in NEAC play, in the home finale, while Cobleskill improves to an 8-14 mark, 7-9 in conference action.

Seniors Andrew Lucio (Syracuse, N.Y.), Brandon Henry (Harlem, N.Y.) and Ryan Jameson (Greenwich, N.Y.) combined for 44 points Tuesday night, leading Morrisville State men’s basketball to a decisive 106-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting SUNY Cobleskill, on senior night in Morrisville. The win lifts the Mustangs to 18-5 overall, 12-2 in conference action. Cobleskill drops to 5-19 overall, 3-11 in the NEAC.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2012 fall academic awards, naming Morrisville State College field hockey student-athletes Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, N.Y.) and Megan Coffey (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) to its All-Academic Team.

Morrisville State drops to 1-21 overall, 1-13 in conference play, while the Express improve to 12-10 and remain in a fight for the top spot in the Northern Division with an 11-3 NEAC record.

The Morrisville State College athletics department will host a President’s Day Field Hockey Clinic, Monday, Feb. 18 for modified, junior varsity and varsity field hockey level field players in the Recreation Center on the Morrisville State campus. Modified and junior varsity level players are scheduled for clinical instruction from Morrisville State head coach Becky Osier from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., with varsity following from 12 – 3 p.m.

Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball struggled Sunday afternoon against the reigning southern division champion, and as a result had their 12-game win streak snapped, as host Penn State Harrisburg collected a 70-58 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory in Middletown. The Mustangs, who sit at the top of the conference with a 9-2 record, drop to 15-5 overall on the season. Harrisburg improves to 10-12 overall, 7-4 in conference action.

Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball erased an eight point second half deficit using a game changing run to top host Gallaudet University 75-56 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. The Mustangs post their 12th straight victory to improve to 15-4 overall, remaining atop the NEAC with a 9-1 conference record. Gallaudet, who was a threat to Morrisville State through 24 minutes of play, drops to 9-13 overall, 5-6 in conference play.

Visiting Keuka College women’s basketball came from behind in the second half to hand host Morrisville State College a 65-48 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss Wednesday night in Morrisville. The Mustangs drop to 1-18 overall, 1-10 in conference play. Keuka remains atop the conference with an 11-1 NEAC record, improving to a 14-2 overall mark.
