The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2012 fall academic awards, naming Morrisville State College field hockey student-athletes Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, N.Y.) and Megan Coffey (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) to its All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for SUNYAC All-Academic team recognition the nominated student-athlete must have a fall semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher while participating in a conference sponsored sport.

Anderson, who excelled on the field and in the classroom during the season, was also a second team All-Conference selection as a defender for the Mustangs following an 11 point year on three goals and five assists. Two of her scores were on penalty strokes.

Anderson ranked eighth overall in assists recorded on the season in the conference.

The two-sport student-athlete for the Mustangs is a 2009 graduate of Harpursville High. Majoring in equine science at Morrisville State, she is the daughter of Melissa and Paul Anderson of Harpursville.

Coffey appeared in 10 games for Morrisville State on defense this past season, and excelled in the classroom to earn the prestigious academic accolade through the conference office.
