Slow first half sinks Morrisville State women, Cazenovia nets 61-40 win

Visiting Morrisville State College women’s basketball struggled in the first half Saturday afternoon, dropping a 61-40 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision to host Cazenovia College in Cazenovia.

The Mustangs drop to 1-22 overall on the season, 1-14 in conference play.

Jasmine Oakes (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Courtney Coley (Bronx, N.Y.) each posted 10 points to lead the Morrisville State efforts, as Coley collected the double-double with a team high 11 rebounds, nine on the offensive glass.

Morrisville State shot a mere 12.9 percent from the floor in the first half, which led to a 32-13 Cazenovia lead at the intermission.

The Mustangs return to the court Tuesday, hosting SUNY Cobleskill for the home finale at 5 p.m..
