Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) will hold a workshop on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College on March 21, from 6-9 p.m. The workshop will help individuals assess their interest in different renewable energy areas, assess what skills they need to prepare for jobs in the field and provide information on how they can personally conserve energy.

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team opened the 2011 season campaign Saturday afternoon with an 11-10 non-conference victory over visiting SUNY Oswego on Drake Field in Morrisville. In a back and forth first half battle, Oswego held the 7-6 advantage at the break before Morrisville State tallied four unanswered scores in the third quarter, two on man up opportunities, for the 10-8 lead.

Sitting at a desk enveloped in natural light in a lofty architectural studio, Morrisville State College student Antwon Ward placed the finishing touches on the model of a wooden pavilion he designed in class. Nearby, a faint buzz of saws filled a hallway along with echoes of voices coming from a grand atrium where students gathered to chat, tweet, and finish homework before class.

Morrisville State College will host prospective students and their families during Saturday open house events March 26 and April 16. The college will offer a variety of activities designed to introduce students to Morrisville State College and assist them with their college search process.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named western equestrian riders, Tanya Ashford (Wapwallopen, PA) and Wyatt Carbaugh (Greencastle, PA) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 27.

Morrisville State College senior net minder, Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC) is following his dream of playing hockey professionally, signing with the Reading Royals to an Amateur Tryout Agreement on March 1, 2011. The Reading Royals are a member of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League), a Premier “AA” Hockey League.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team posted high point team honors twice in Sunday's show, completing the regular season with an undefeated 8-0 record. Topping the competition with 251 team points throughout the season, Morrisville State will be representing Zone 2, Region 3 at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) western semi-finals team competition in Findlay, Ohio on March 26th.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball season came to an end Friday night as fourth seed Gallaudet University claimed the 80-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship tournament quarterfinal game over the Mustangs in Middletown, PA. Morrisville State concludes the 2010-11 campaign with a 12-13 overall record, 10-8 in conference action, appearing the NEAC tournament for the second straight season.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball freshman Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 20. Scott tallied 44 points, 13 assists, nine steals and 14 rebounds in a 0-2 week for the women's team. Scott netted a collegiate best 27 points in the loss to SUNYIT, hitting 3-of-4 from behind the arc while nailing 8-of-10 from the free throw line.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2010-11 Ice Hockey All-Conference teams, with Morrisville State College's freshman defender, James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT), earning honorable mention honors. Jarvis completed the season with five goals and 10 assists for 15 points, ranking fifth overall in freshman scoring in the conference, sixth in defenseman scoring. Three of his scores were on the man advantage.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its 2010-11 Men's Basketball All-Conference selections, naming Morrisville State's Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) and Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY) to its second and third team, respectively.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team tallied 39 team points to earn reserve champion show honors Saturday at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) equine event held at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. Skidmore was show champion with 47 points, followed by Morrisville with 39, Hartwick 29, Albany 18, RPI 18, Siena 18, Cobleskill 18, Colgate, 17, Union 12, and Oneonta 10.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) hockey quarterfinal contest between #4 Plattsburgh State and #5 Morrisville State will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 at Plattsburgh. Tickets go on-sale to the general public at the Field House Box Office on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for $5 per person and $2 for SUNY students with valid college identification.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2010-11 men's basketball conference championship bracket yesterday, seeding Morrisville State College fifth. The Mustangs completed the regular season with a 12-12 overall record, 10-8 in conference play, and will face fourth seed Gallaudet University (16-9, 12-6 NEAC) Friday at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

The Morrisville State College wrestling team picked up its second win of the season, topping Scranton University 29-12 at the New York University tri-match on Saturday.

Sister Shuzy will be making her debut at The Great New York State Fair in Syracuse this year showing off her foal to thousands of passers-by. The standardbreds will join three other four-legged favorites (Ace, Banjo and Jessie) inside Morrisville State College's building during the popular fair which runs Aug. 25-Sept. 5.

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team concluded the 2010-11 season Saturday afternoon, falling to visiting SUNY Cobleskill 55-47 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Morrisville. The Mustangs close at 5-20 overall, 5-17 in NEAC play, while Cobleskill improves to 13-12, 12-10 in the conference.

Senior Bryan Eddy (White Plains, NY) tallied 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Morrisville State College men's basketball to a 83-71 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Saturday afternoon over visiting SUNY Cobleskill in Morrisville. Morrisville State improves to 12-12 overall, 10-8 in conference action and await tournament seeding Sunday night. Cobleskill drops to 10-15 overall, and 10-8 in conference play.

Freshman goaltender Kevin Carr (Unionville, ONT) posted his third career shut out Friday night, making 44 saves, as the visiting Buffalo State College Bengals posted a 3-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over host Morrisville State at the IcePlex in Morrisville. The loss drops the Mustangs to 11-11-1 overall, 8-6-1 in SUNYAC action, while the Bengals up their record to 12-10-3, 8-5-3 in conference play.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team narrowly escaped competition Saturday afternoon, collecting their fifth and sixth wins of the season to remain undefeated. In the first of the double show, the Mustangs posted 32 team points to collect show champion honors, while Colgate University earned reserve champion honors with 30 team points.
