The Morrisville State College women's basketball team concluded the 2010-11 season Saturday afternoon, falling to visiting SUNY Cobleskill 55-47 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Morrisville.
The Mustangs close at 5-20 overall, 5-17 in NEAC play, while Cobleskill improves to 13-12, 12-10 in the conference.
Morrisville State pulled to within three with less than four minutes remaining, but Cobleskill used a 5-0 run to secure the win in the closing minute.
Chelcy Moore (Albany, NY) led all scorers with 19, grabbing 14 rebounds, to lead Cobleskill, while teammates Alexis Hauser (Albany, NY) added 13 and Kaitlin Myers (Dannemora, NY) 12. Myers also grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory.
Morrisville State's Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) had 17 points and 11 boards to lead the Mustangs, while teammate Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) added 10 points and 12 boards. Scott also dished out a team high nine assists.
Morrisville State and Cobleskill were notched at 22 at the break.
Prior to the contest, Morrisville State senior guard, Kimberly Lewis (Otselic Valley) was honored.
