The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team tallied 39 team points to earn reserve champion show honors Saturday at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) equine event held at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore was show champion with 47 points, followed by Morrisville with 39, Hartwick 29, Albany 18, RPI 18, Siena 18, Cobleskill 18, Colgate, 17, Union 12, and Oneonta 10.
Rachel Kenney (Esperence, NY) won the rode off competition to earn reserve high point rider honors after earning blue ribbons in both the novice equitation over fences and novice on the flat classes.
Five additional riders earned top honors for the riding team, including Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) who was first in the intermediate over fences class. Kathryn Curto (Bohemia, NY) earned the blue ribbon in the novice over fences class while teammate Janine Ordway (Long Valley, NJ) was first in the advanced walk trot canter class.
Alice Smith (Dansville, NY) and Amber Swan (West Carthage, NY) each took top honors in the beginner walk trot canter class.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena Saturday, hosting a show at the Fearon Road barn.
