Carr records shut out as Bengals top Morrisville State 3-0

Freshman goaltender Kevin Carr (Unionville, ONT) posted his third career shut out Friday night, making 44 saves, as the visiting Buffalo State College Bengals posted a 3-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over host Morrisville State at the IcePlex in Morrisville.



The loss drops the Mustangs to 11-11-1 overall, 8-6-1 in SUNYAC action, while the Bengals up their record to 12-10-3, 8-5-3 in conference play.



Taylor McGraw (North Lawrence, NY) put in the Bengals first tally of the night, tipping the one-timer past Morrisville netminder Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC) off assists from Kyle Granville (Lockport, NY) and Dave Lansdowne (Toronto, ONT) in the seventh minute of play. Carr turned away 15 in the first period, as Morrisville State posted a 15-7 advantage in shots on goal.



In the second, Buffalo State's Sean Murray (Burlington, ONT) tallied a power play score at the 8:25 mark, before Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ONT) put the game away with a shorthanded tally off a Mustang turnover inside the blue line.



Carr turned away 16 in the final period to keep the Mustangs off the scoreboard.



Morrisville State held the 44-20 advantage in shots on goal.



Relkoff recorded the loss in net, making 17 stops.



Morrisville State returns to the ice tomorrow night, hosting Fredonia State at 7 p.m.
