Senior Bryan Eddy (White Plains, NY) tallied 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Morrisville State College men's basketball to a 83-71 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Saturday afternoon over visiting SUNY Cobleskill in Morrisville.
Morrisville State improves to 12-12 overall, 10-8 in conference action and await tournament seeding Sunday night. Cobleskill drops to 10-15 overall, and 10-8 in conference play.
The Mustangs raced out to a 13 point lead midway through the first half, but Cobleskill fought back with a 9-1 run to close the half trailing 36-33 at the break.
Cobleskill tied the game with 12 minutes to go in the second, but Morrisville State went on an 8-2 run to regain a six point lead and closed with hitting 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Four additional Mustangs were in double figures, including Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) with 16, adding five assists, Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY) with 14, Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) with 13 and Londel Lennon (Hartford, CT) with 10. Turner also added eight rebounds and nine assists to his tallies while Lennon grabbed seven boards.
Damon Franklin (Flint, MI) led Cobleskill with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Damion Longmore (Bronx, NY) had 16 points.
