The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its All-Conference Team selections, naming Morrisville State College sophomore middle hitter Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, NY/Hamilton) to its third team. Jones-Maxwell led the Mustangs in hitting this season, posting 171 total kills in 23 matches played (.224 hitting percentage, ranked 9th overall in the conference). Eight times this season (six in conference action) she was in double figures for kills in the match, including a season high of 16 against Wells.
Visiting Morrisville State College men’s ice hockey battled back from a three goal deficit Saturday night, but fell short as host Buffalo State College picked up the 3-2 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory in Buffalo. Morrisville State drops to 0-4-0 overall, 0-3-0 in conference action, while the Bengals improve to 2-1-1, picking up their first SUNYAC win. Dalton Gilbert (Alta Loma, Ca.) and James Jarvis (Pickering, Ontario) each posted goals for the Mustangs, with Jarvis adding an assist to his tallies on the night.
Morrisville State College athletics department has teamed up with the American Red Cross in an effort to collect donations for the Disaster Relief Fund to be directed to those affected by this week’s Hurricane Sandy in the Tri-State area. Donations will be collected at Saturday’s football game against The College of New Jersey. “We are keenly aware of the challenges presented by the terrible effects of Hurricane Sandy on the people who live, work and study in the Tri-State area,” said Morrisville State Athletic Director Greg Carroll.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College’s Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, Md.) the Men’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.
Morrisville State College had eight earn North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Cross Country All-Conference honors following their performance at the conference championships, Saturday in Abington, P.A.
Release courtesy of Eugenio Mercurio GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Penn State Abington will be the host site of the 2012 NEAC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament after the Nittany Lions won the regular season championship with a 9-1 conference record and 27 overall points.  The tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4.
Sophomore Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, P.A.) and senior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, N.Y.) were top finishers for the Morrisville State College women’s and men’s cross country teams at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship held at Penn State Abington, Saturday October 27th.
Senior forward Courtney Cartier (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) registered six points on a goal and four assists to lead visiting St. Lawrence University field hockey to a 5-1 victory over host Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. The win lifts the Saints to 3-13 overall, while Morrisville State drops to 2-16. Carly Stine (South Burlington, Vt.) tallied two scores for the Saints, while teammates Ashley Ferenczy (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Emma Berry (New Hampton, NH) each added one.
Visiting Morrisville State College women’s volleyball closed out the 2012 season campaign Saturday, falling in a 3-0 match decision to host Keuka in Keuka Park. The Mustangs ended the season with a 5-18 overall record, after Keuka posted the 25-16, 25-16 and 28-26 set victories. Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.) led Morrisville State’s efforts, registering eight kills, seven defensive digs and a solo block, while teammate Dana Maythenyi (Fallsburg, N.Y.) added four kills, assisted one, and had three assisted blocks at the net.
The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team opened the 2012-2013 season Saturday with a third place finish at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Invitational held in Oneonta. Morrisville State tallied 33 team points in the show, being topped by show champion Skidmore (47) and reserve champion Hartwick (38).
