Morrisville State College athletics department has teamed up with the American Red Cross in an effort to collect donations for the Disaster Relief Fund to be directed to those affected by this week’s Hurricane Sandy in the Tri-State area. Donations will be collected at Saturday’s football game against The College of New Jersey.
“We are keenly aware of the challenges presented by the terrible effects of Hurricane Sandy on the people who live, work and study in the Tri-State area,” said Morrisville State Athletic Director Greg Carroll.
“The College of New Jersey has gone to great lengths to make it to Morrisville for this weekend’s conference game and we appreciate all that they have gone through in the aftermath of the storm. It’s only fitting that we reach out to them in this time of need.”
In addition to a portion of gate receipts and proceeds from the day’s 50/50 raffle, general donations will be solicited and collected throughout the contest and donated directly to the relief fund.
Kick-off for Saturday’s game is at 1 p.m. on Drake Field on the Morrisville State campus.
