The Morrisville State College women's basketball team came from behind to edge host Cazenovia College by a 58-57 final, Wednesday night in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Cazenovia. Morrisville State shot a mere 20 percent from the floor in the first half and found themselves trailing by eight at the break, but posted a 13-4 run over the course of five minutes to open the second half to take take their first lead of the game with 15 minutes remaining in the game.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night, posting a victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Cazenovia College by an 88-71 final in Cazenovia. Morrisville State led by three at the break before Cazenovia shot just 27 percent from the floor, compared to the Mustangs 59 percent, in the second half.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its players of the week for the week ending January 23, naming Morrisville State College freshman defender, James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT) the Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week. Jarvis posted a goal and assist in the 3-2 loss to #14 Hobart College on Saturday. He assisted the first score in the second period to cut the Statesman lead to one, before netting a power play score in the 19th minute of the final period to complete Mustang scoring.

The Morrisville State College athletic department will be offering a soccer clinic Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20 at the Recreation Center on the Morrisville State campus.

Host Keuka College women's basketball rolled to a 70-45 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon in Keuka Park. Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) led Morrisville State with 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds, as the Mustangs drop to 2-12 overall on the season, 2-10 in conference action. LaQuiesha Jenkins (Syracuse, NY) added eight points in the loss for the Mustangs. Keuka led 43-22 at the half, and forced 25 Morrisville State turnovers in the contest.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team dropped their third straight contest, falling to host Keuka College on the road in Keuka Park by a 73-59 final. Keuka converted on 56 percent of shots taken in the first half, compared to 36 for Morrisville State, to take a 35-27 lead at the half. In the second, Morrisville State trailed by as many as 19, but battled back and ran out of time as the Storm claimed the 14 point North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win.

Morrisville State College ice hockey fell short Saturday night to #14 nationally ranked Hobart College, recording a 3-2 non-conference loss in Geneva. Morrisville State is now 8-7-1 on the season, while Hobart improves to 12-4-1. Hobart posted two first period goals over the Mustangs, with the first score of the night coming just 59 seconds into the contest as Tommy Capalbo put one past Morrisville State netminder, Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC) for the early lead.

The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team will be auctioning off commemorative white jerseys that will be worn during the February 5th contest against SUNY Plattsburgh to help support the Saves For A Cure program. Saves For A Cure is a non-profit organization founded by former SUNY Brockport goaltender and cancer survivor, Todd Sheridan, aimed to help children with their battle against cancer. The program assists in enhancing hospital stays for children undergoing cancer treatments at the James P Wilmot Cancer Center in Rochester.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNY) announced its players of the week, naming Morrisville State senior forward Bobby Cass (Burlington, ONT) the Ice Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending January 16. Cass was involved in each scoring play for the Mustangs in the 4-3 overtime loss to 15th ranked Neumann College Saturday. Cass tallied two power play scores and assisted another in the loss.
