The Morrisville State College hunt seat team hosted two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Invitationals over the weekend, placing third in Saturday's show and earning reserve team honors on Sunday. Catherine O'Donnell (Huntington, NY) and Brianna Drake (Merrick, NY) qualified for the regional championship show at the end of the season in the novice fences and advanced walk trot canter classes, respectively.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2011 Field Hockey All-Conference Teams, naming Morrisville State College's Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, NY) and Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, NY) to its first and second teams. Quackenbush led Morrisville State in scoring, recording 11 goals and an assist on the season for 23 points in 18 games played. One of her goals was a game winner in the overtime thriller against Elmira.

Morrisville State College athletic director, Greg Carroll, along with head women's basketball coach, Sean Pinkerton, has announced the addition of Carrie Serrano to the women's basketball staff for the 2011-12 season. Serrano comes to Morrisville State from Heidelberg University where she was a four-year member of the women's basketball program at guard.

Morrisville State College football concluded the 2011 season campaign Saturday afternoon, falling 35-20 to host SUNY Brockport in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action.

Sophomore netminder Colin Breen (Waterloo, NY) posted a collegiate best 51 saves as visiting Morrisville State College hockey skated to a 3-3 draw against top nationally ranked Oswego State Saturday night in Oswego. Morrisville State is 1-4-1 overall, 1-4-1 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, while Oswego is 5-1-1 overall, 3-0-1 in SUNYAC play.

The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team dropped their fourth straight contest of the season, falling 5-4 in overtime to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent SUNY Cortland Friday night in Cortland. The loss puts the Mustangs at 1-4-0 overall, while Cortland improves to 3-2.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named western rider, Kelly Hunter (Red Hook, NY), and football wide receiver, Ricky Demers (Wappinger Falls, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 6. Hunter collected two first place finishes in the Class 12A intermediate I equitation class on Saturday as the western team collected its first two wins of the 2011-12 season.

Professional football hall of famer and Syracuse University superstar Floyd Little will give a presentation at Morrisville State College Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. in the STUAC theatre. His speech is free and open to the public.

The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office announced its football players of the week, naming Morrisville State College's wide receiver/kick return specialist Josh Powell (Yonkers, NY) the Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending November 5.

Morrisville State College students are reaching out to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness. Some will gain a sense of what it feels like to be homeless when they sleep out overnight in handmade shelters while others will spearhead a campus-wide brigade to collect items for the needy.

Morrisville State slips to 1-3-0 overall, while Buffalo improves to 2-1-0. Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT) tallied both goals for the Mustangs with Patrick Stillar (Burlington, ONT) picking up an assist on each goal.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team opened the 2011-2012 season campaign with high point team honors Saturday, sweeping all competition in both the morning and afternoon shows. Morrisville State topped compiled 33 team points to edge reserve high point team SUNY Cobleskill (25 points) in the morning show, and repeated in the afternoon with 28 team points to Cobleskill's 18.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) released its 2011 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams, naming three Morrisville State College student-athletes to its second and third teams. Junior forward Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, MD) garnered second team honors following his performance on the field this season. Pierre-Louis led the Mustangs in scoring, putting seven in the back of the net and assisted on another for 15 points this season.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its All-Conference Team selections Wednesday, naming Morrisville State College freshman midfielder Erin Rundle (Marathon, NY) to its second team. Rundle becomes the first member of the women's soccer team to earn All-Conference honors.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its All-Conference Team selections Wednesday, naming Morrisville State College freshman middle hitter Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, NY/Hamilton) to its third team. Jones-Maxwell led Morrisville State with 221 kills on the season (2.28 per game) while collecting 100 defensive digs and 57 blocks at the net for the Mustangs, starting 28 matches.

Host Nazareth College posted a comeback victory over visiting Morrisville State College, scoring four straight, including three in the second half, as they topped the Mustangs 4-1 in non-conference action at Nazareth. Morrisville State concludes the 2011 season with a 1-17 overall record. Sarah Angerer (Cooperstown, NY) netted the lone score for the Mustangs 12:42 into the first half, as Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, NY) collected the assist.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 team points, just one shy of reserve show champion Hartwick, to place third overall at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational Saturday in Oneonta. Skidmore was show champion with 43 team points, followed by Hartwick with 36. Albany tallied 34 for fourth, Colgate 31, Cobleskill 30, Oneonta 25, RPI 20, Sienna 20 and Union 12 to round out team scoring.

Morrisville State College freshman Greg Johnsmeyer (West Hurley, N.Y) was the first rookie to cross the finish line at Saturday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships held at SUNY Cobleskill, earning him the NEAC's inaugural Rookie of the Year award.

Visiting Plattsburgh State hockey scored twice in the final period to top host Morrisville State College by a 6-4 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) final Saturday night in Morrisville. Morrisville State slips to 1-1-0 overall, while Plattsburgh picks up their first win of 2011.

Greg Johnsmeyer (West Hurley, N.Y.) and Amanda Hunt (Laceyville, P.A.) became the first Morrisville State College cross country runners to place in the top five at a championship event, placing 5th and 4th, respectively, at Saturday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships held at SUNY Cobleskill.

Kiersten Ryan scored twice to lead host RPI to a 5-3 victory over visiting Morrisville State College field hockey Saturday afternoon in Troy. The Mustangs drop to 1-16 on the season. Ryan registered two quick tallies for RPI within the first five minutes of the contest, before Alissa Peterson added another for the three goal advantage just eight minutes in.

Morrisville State College had five earn North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Cross Country All-Conference honors following their performance at the conference championships.
