Host Nazareth College posted a comeback victory over visiting Morrisville State College, scoring four straight, including three in the second half, as they topped the Mustangs 4-1 in non-conference action at Nazareth.
Morrisville State concludes the 2011 season with a 1-17 overall record.
Sarah Angerer (Cooperstown, NY) netted the lone score for the Mustangs 12:42 into the first half, as Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, NY) collected the assist.
Nazareth was able to get on the board minutes before the halftime period, as Tessa Knapp fired the ball past Morrisville State goalkeeper, Laura Blumenfled (Rockland, NY) for the game tying tally. Blumenfeld had 18 saves in net, while Courtney Coombs (Newark Valley, NY) recorded a defensive save.
Nazareth posted the go ahead score nearly 10 minutes into the second half, and quickly added another five minutes later for the two goal cushion, before securing the win with a final tally in the 56th minute. Knapp assisted two of the three Nazareth scores.
Holding a 27-6 advantage in shots and 13-8 advantage in penalty corners, Nazareth improved to 6-11 overall. Keepers Shannon Winney and Sophia Rhoades each had two saves in net, Winney allowing the lone Mustang goal in 41 minutes of play.
