The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 team points, just one shy of reserve show champion Hartwick, to place third overall at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational Saturday in Oneonta.
Skidmore was show champion with 43 team points, followed by Hartwick with 36. Albany tallied 34 for fourth, Colgate 31, Cobleskill 30, Oneonta 25, RPI 20, Sienna 20 and Union 12 to round out team scoring.
Keeley O'Hara (Cazenovia, NY) led the Mustangs with a second place finish in open fences before topping all riders with a first place finish in the open equitation on the flat class.
Katie Northrop (Brighton, NY) also posted a first place finish, earning the blue in the intermediate equitation over fences class, while Taylor Carey (Albany, NY) took top honors in the novice equitation over fences class.
Emily Overend (Lansing, KS) and Layne Simonin (Tivoli, NY) each had second place finishes in their novice fences and novice flat classes, respectively, while Serena Frasca (Brooklyn, NY) had a second place finish in the walk trot class.
Morrisville State returns to the riding arena November 12, hosting the IHSA show at the English Barn on Fearon Road in Morrisville.
