LEED® green training is among the free community education courses being offered through Morrisville State College's Office of Workforce and Development.
The three-day course, LEED® Green Associate, will be held Oct. 3-5, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Morrisville campus. The same course will be offered again April 16-18, 2012.

Host St. Lawrence University tallied four first half scores en route to the 5-2 non-conference victory over visiting Morrisville State College Wednesday evening in Canton.
St. Lawrence struck early, putting the first score in the net just four minutes in before Morrisville State answered with a Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, NY) score from Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) on a penalty corner opportunity at the 11 minute mark.

Visiting Alfred University men's soccer posted a 3-0 lead at the half and added one more in the second to claim the 4-2 non-conference victory over host Morrisville State College Wednesday afternoon in Morrisville.
Alfred's Rigel Johnson (Little Valley, N.Y.) put the Saxons on the board early, scoring an unassisted goal just under five minutes into the contest with a shot inside the left post.

Visiting Cazenovia College women's volleyball overcame a six point deficit in the fifth set Wednesday night to claim the 3-2 victory over host Morrisville State College in Morrisville.
Morrisville State drops to 0-5 overall with the loss, while Cazenovia improves to 2-8 overall.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 1-0 lead, recording the 25-23 victory in the first set before Cazenovia battled back to take the next two, 25-22 and 25-14.

Megan McDermott (Greene, N.Y.) scored twice to lead Cazenovia College women's soccer over Morrisville State Tuesday evening in Morrisville, N.Y. The Mustangs fell to 0-2 in NEAC play and 1-3 overall, while the Wildcats improved to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the NEAC.
McDermott tallied her first goal of the evening just under 11 minutes into the first half on a direct kick awarded to the Wildcats after a Morrisville handball.

Host Keystone College scored four goals in an eight minute span late in the second half to hand visiting Morrisville State College field hockey the 5-2 non-conference loss Saturday afternoon in Scranton, PA.
Morrisville State drops to 0-2 on the season, while Keystone improves to 1-2 overall.
The Giants struck first, posting the lone first half score on the board 29:39 into the contest.

The Morrisville State women's soccer team tops Southern Vermont 1-0 in non-conference play today at Morrisville State's Drake Field. The Mustangs improve to 1-2 overall on the season, while the Mountaineers fall to 1-2.
After playing a scoreless first half Erin Rundle (Marathon, N.Y.) put the Mustangs ahead for good, scoring just over five minutes into the second half with a shot off the far post. The goal was unassisted and Rundle's first of the season.

Morrisville State College junior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) led the men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the Oswego State 8k Invitational Saturday afternoon, crossing in 29th position overall.
Townsley completed the race with a time of 28:32.34.

The Morrisville College Equine Institute will hold its twenty-second annual Fall Yearling Sale Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at the college's Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road. The preview day for the sale, the largest of its kind in New York state, is Sept. 24.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named junior cross country runner, Austin Townsley (Horseheads, N.Y.) the Mustangs Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 4.
Townsley led the men's team to a second place finish at the Wildcat Invitational held at SUNYIT on Saturday, pacing the Mustangs with a 21:05 time in the 6K race, crossing the line in seventh overall out of 134 individual runners.

R.I.T. senior forward Dan Holowaty (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatius) scored a career high three goals as the RIT men's soccer team defeated Morrisville State 4-0 in non-conference action at RIT Field. The loss puts the Mustangs at 0-2 on the season.
Holowaty gave RIT a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute on a header off an assist from Danny Bloshkin (Liverpool, N.Y.).

The Morrisville State College football team rallied for a second half comeback attempt, but fell short, suffering a 14-11 non-conference loss to visiting Hartwick College Saturday night in Morrisville in the 2011 season opener.
The Mustangs put together an early 68-yard scoring drive with 11:38 remaining in the fourth to pull to within three, but failed to capitalize on additional opportunities as Hartwick held on for the win.

The Morrisville State College men's soccer team participated in the Helpers on the Homefront 5k run Saturday, August 27th, raising and donating more than $800 to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Founded in 2003, the WWP was created to honor and empower wounded warriors who incur service-related wounds, injuries and illnesses while serving in our country's military branches since September 11, 2001.

The Morrisville State College football program is set to kick-off the 2011 campaign, hosting Hartwick College in a non-conference match-up, Saturday night at 7 p.m. on Drake Field in Morrisville.
The Mustangs enter the contest following a 2-8 record (2-7 NJAC, 8th place) in 2010, returning 17 starters to the line-up this season.
