LEED® green training is among the free community education courses being offered through Morrisville State College's Office of Workforce and Development.

The three-day course, LEED® Green Associate, will be held Oct. 3-5, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Morrisville campus. The same course will be offered again April 16-18, 2012.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) is a certification program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that encourages green building through a system of benchmarks that rate the design, construction and operation of buildings.

The course, taught by Irene Santoro, an LEED® AP BD&C consultant and president of Forever Green Training and Sustainable Design, prepares beginning green building professionals to pass the Green Building Certification Institute's (GBCI) LEED® Green Associate Exam. Santoro has more than 20 years of design and construction experience.

In addition to the course, textbooks and course materials are also free. Registration is required. For more information or to register call 684-6706 or 684-6615.
