Morrisville State College junior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) led the men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the Oswego State 8k Invitational Saturday afternoon, crossing in 29th position overall.
Townsley completed the race with a time of 28:32.34.
Freshman Greg Johnsmeyer (West Hurley, N.Y.) finished behind Townsley in 34th place with a time of 28:53.54. Benjamin Sargrad (Manlius, NY) was close behind, finishing in 41st place with a time of 29:18.17.
Shawn Okula (Medford, N.Y.) finished 65th overall at 30:55.23 while Dakota Nelson (Smyrna, N.Y.) rounded out Morrisville State scoring with a 73rd place finish in 31:24.87.
The Morrisville State women finished the invitational in 10th place.
Freshman Amanda Hunt (Laceyville, P.A.) was top finisher for the Mustangs, placing 42nd overall with a time of 22:49.03 in the 5k run.
The men and women each hit the road Saturday for the Hobart Invitational.
