There is a murderer loose in jolly old England! Or at least, in Morrisville State's Theater play, “The Mousetrap.” The Friars Club will be presenting this Agatha Christie murder-mystery Oct. 25 and 26 at 8 p.m., Oct. 27 at 2 p.m., and Oct. 31, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2 at 8 p.m.
In the play, Giles and Mollie Ralston have just opened their new hotel, Monkswell Manor, when a blizzard entraps them and their strange and eccentric guests who have just arrived.

A 13-year tradition brought friends Vicki Crane and Joy Richwine to Morrisville State this year.
The two traveled from a small town near Poughkeepsie to cheer on their sons, members of the Morrisville State football team, during the college's festive Mustang Weekend celebration.

Morrisville State College held its twenty-fourth annual standardbred sale, taking in nearly $1.3 million.
A total of 125 yearlings were sold at an average of $10, 246, including 14 yearlings consigned by the Morrisville State College Equine Institute. The highest price paid for a horse topped out at $59,000.

Ashley Willits' visit to Morrisville State was pretty impressive. She was able to see a horse swim in an equine pool and high-tech farming that integrates live fish and plants.
Willits was among a team of New York State (NYS) FFA officers who made a stop at the college during the NYS National FFA Officer Tour. Also participating was national FFA officer Brennan Costello, from Nebraska, who is serving as the national FFA vice president.

Morrisville State's thirty-first annual Autumn Review Sale will be held on Sept. 28.
The sale, run by the Morrisville State Dairy Club, will start at 11 a.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building on Eaton Street in Morrisville.
Eighty-two lots will be sold on consignment at the sale. All are Holstein (calves, cows, embryos, and picks). The sale catalog can be viewed at www.holsteinworld.com/saleslist.php.

High school seniors in Madison or Chenango counties interested in Morrisville State may now have a chance to attend with free tuition.
The Local Campus Award is a new scholarship being offered in the fall of 2014 to incoming freshmen ranked in the top 10% of their graduating high school class. This award provides free tuition and fees.

Morrisville State has been ranked among the Best Regional Colleges in the North in the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges 2014 issue. The publication is renowned for its higher education rankings.
The USNWR rankings are released annually and rely on data provided by universities to produce college rankings on a variety of factors reflecting academic quality.

The Morrisville College Equine Institute will hold its twenty-fourth annual Fall Yearling Sale Sept. 22 at noon at the college's Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road. The preview day for the sale, the largest of its kind in New York State, is Sept. 21.

A Morrisville Mustang is making a spectacular debut. The jaunty college icon is the theme of this year's famed corn maze at the popular Critz Farms in Cazenovia.
Critz Farms and Morrisville State partnered to design the giant Mustang Madness Corn Maze which features more than eight acres of challenging twists. The maze opens Sept. 14 and also marks the beginning of the Critz Farms Fall Harvest Celebration which runs through Oct. 27.

Sarah Steele, of Eaton, has joined Morrisville State as the Director of Human Resources, Affirmative Action and Title IX Coordinator.
Steele, an Illion native, will be the lead in the Human Resources Department, responsible for administering the college's and its employee's practices and policies, as well as payroll and labor relations functions.

An unlucky bounce gave the Morrisville State College men’s soccer team a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon to Houghton College at the Oswego Tournament in Oswego.
The Mustangs drop to 1-1 overall, while Houghton notches their first win of the season for a 1-0-1 record.

The Morrisville State College men’s cross country team opened the 2013 season Saturday with a 7th place finish overall at the SUNYIT Short Course Invitational in Marcy.
Sophomore Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the Mustang efforts with a 36th overall finish, crossing the line for the 6K race in 21:48, as Morrisville State compiled 227 scoring points.

The Morrisville State College women’s cross country team recorded a 7th place finish overall Saturday morning, compiling 180 scoring points at the SUNYIT Invite in Marcy.
Senior Billie Jo Hinds (Oriskany, N.Y.) led Morrisville State with a seventh place individual finish, crossing the 5K race line with a time of 21:16, out of 143 runners.

The Morrisville State College field hockey team battled to a 1-1 tie after regulation and was unable to hold on as a costly foul within the circle in the extra period led to the game winning tally by Wells Saturday afternoon in Aurora.
Ilze Stots (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) notched the Mustangs lone score nearly 14 minutes into the contest, collecting a rebound shot off Wells keeper Sydney Line, and firing it into the boards for the 1-0 Morrisville State lead.

The work of renowned sports sculptor and painter, Jim Ridlon, former NFL star and Syracuse football standout, coach and announcer, is on exhibit at Morrisville State.
The display of nine abstract collage paintings will be available for public viewing until Sept. 3 in the Donald Butcher Library Gallery. Summer viewing hours for the gallery are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Devon Schott has his career mapped out ahead of him. The 19-year-old Morrisville State student wants to land his dream job as a chef and eventually open his own restaurant.
His goals came into focus when a new associate degree in culinary arts management was launched by the college this semester.
