Morrisville State to "Pink Out" for breast cancer awareness

Again this October, Morrisville State's dining hall will turn pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and they aren't the only ones at risk. Although breast cancer in men is rare, it is estimated by the NBCF that 2,150 men will be diagnosed and 410 will die from it each year.



To raise awareness on this issue, MSC's Seneca Dining will be holding its annual Pink Out day on Oct. 29.



During Pink Out, all Seneca Dining Hall staff will be wearing pink t-shirts with the breast cancer logo. There will also be specialty pink food items including, ice cream, smoothies, and students will be able to frost their own cookies.



The Student Government Organization (SGO) will also be in Seneca to give out pink tattoos and will be spraying hair pink. They will also be offering bracelets, pencils, balloons, and other pink novelty items.



MSC's C-Step program will also help raise awareness this month by giving out breast cancer awareness items such as bracelets and stickers.
