Morrisville State College sophomore, Henry Petry (Waverly, NY) posted a third place finish in the heavyweight class to lead the Mustangs to a sixth place team finish at the RIT Invitational Saturday in Rochester.
Cortland State won the invitational with 148.5 points, followed by Wesleyan with 103, Oswego 94.5, Baldwin Wallace 94, John Carroll 84, Morrisville State 52.5, Case Western 44.5, Kings 27, and RIT with 17.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team trailed by just three at the half before host Hartwick College came out with a 42 point second half to hand the Mustangs the 75-56 non-conference loss Saturday afternoon in Oneonta.
Morrisville State shot 41.7 percent from the floor in the contest, but only nailed two of 10 shots from behind the arc as Hartwick tallied eight three's on the afternoon.

Morrisville State College hockey gave up three unanswered Bengal goals in the third period, playing to a 3-3 overtime draw against nationally ranked (15) Buffalo State College, Friday night in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action in Buffalo.
Morrisville State stands at 4-3-1 overall, 4-2-1 in SUNYAC play. Buffalo State is 6-2-2 overall, 4-2-2 in the conference.

Enrico D'Alessandro, University Police chief at Morrisville State College, is the recipient of the 2010 Oneida County Arson Task Force Distinguished Service Award.
The award was presented to D'Alessandro, of Frankfort, N.Y., during the organization's annual fall arson seminar which gathered insurance personnel, fire and police investigators from around the area.

Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) remained on top of all competition with her third high point rider honor of the season following a first place finish in both the intermediate over fences and intermediate on the flat classes.

Morrisville State College President Raymond Cross announced today that he will resign in February 2011, after 13 years as head of the college, to become chancellor of University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin Extension.
In an e-mail letter to the college community, Cross wrote poignantly about his memories, the people and his time at Morrisville.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team placed third on Saturday and were reserve champions on Sunday as they hosted a double show at the Fearon Road barn.
On Saturday, the Mustangs fell just one point shy of reserve team honors, compiling 29 team points to finish third behind show champion, Skidmore, and reserve champion Siena.
