The Morrisville State College men's basketball team picked up their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win of the 2010 season, topping visiting Keuka College 51-40 Wednesday night in Morrisville.
Morrisville State improves to 2-3 overall, 1-1 in conference action, while Keuka drops to 0-5.
Morrisville State went on an eight point run at the end of the first half to take the 27-19 lead into the break, despite shooting just 27.8 percent from the floor in the first twenty.
In the second half, Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) hit two straight three's to break the Mustangs eight minute scoring drought, fueling Morrisville State to an eight point lead and the eventual conference victory.
Darren Green (Greece, NY) led Morrisville State with 10 points on the night, adding seven boards to his tallies, as Hanks chipped in nine while dishing out three assists. Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) had seven points for the Mustangs and led all on the glass with 13 rebounds.
Putter Brown (Niagara Falls, NY) tallied 17 points and six boards to lead the Storm in the loss as Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, NY) contributed 10 and five rebounds.
Morrisville State returns to the court Saturday at Hartwick College.
