Morrisville State College hunt seat rider, Teal Pederson (Manorville, NY) has earned a chance to compete for a national title in May at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships held in Lexington, Kentucky.
Pederson initially placed third in the intermediate equitation over fences class at the Zone Championships on Saturday, but advances due to an ineligible rider that placed first in the class.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its student-athletes of the week, naming Morrisville State College's Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) it's West Division Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 10.
This is the second time Hartnett has received the award this season.
Hartnett led Morrisville State to a 2-0 week (2-0 in conference play).

The Morrisville State College hunt seat team placed all four riders at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone Championships Saturday at St. Lawrence University, ending their 2010-11 season.
Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) played third overall in the intermediate equitation over fences and sixth in the intermediate equitation on the flat classes.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named freshman Lesa Ward (South Glens Falls, NY) and sophomore Kayla Walker (Oneida, NY), its Mustang Co-Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 3.
Ward, midfielder for the women's lacrosse team, contributed to their 2-1 week, netting three goals apiece in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) wins over Abington and St. Elizabeth this weekend.

Morrisville State College will be discontinuing its sponsorship of men's wrestling as an intercollegiate sport effective the 2011-2012 academic year, according to Greg Carroll, the college's director of athletics. Carroll said the decision to drop wrestling came after careful consideration of all aspects of the sport's place within the colleges' National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Department.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team finished third at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) semi-finals to advance to the National Championships in May.
University of Findlay was the show's high point team, followed by Utah State University with 25 points, and Morrisville with 24. CalPoly-San Luis Obispo, University of Minnesota, Centenary, University of Florida and Cincinnati rounded out the final scoring of teams.

Skidmore won the IHSA show with 47 points, followed by Morrisville with 42, Hartwick 31, Colgate 28, Cobleskill 23, Oneonta 23, RPI 17, Siena 17, and Albany 15.
