The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team completed regular season competition Saturday as the reserve high point team for the season, after earning reserve team honors for the sixth time at the Morrisville State College show on Saturday.
Skidmore won the IHSA show with 47 points, followed by Morrisville with 42, Hartwick 31, Colgate 28, Cobleskill 23, Oneonta 23, RPI 17, Siena 17, and Albany 15.
Rachel Kenney (Esperance, NY) tied for reserve high point rider honors in the show and qualified for regionals following a first place finish in the novice equitation over fences class. She was also second in the intermediate equitation on the flat.
Jill Featherly (Hilton, NY) took home top honors in the intermediate over fences class, while Nicole Tarbell (Clarence, NY) was first in the novice equitation over fences.
Katie Northrop (Brighton, NY) claimed the blue ribbon in the intermediate equitation on the flat class, and Layne Simonin (Tivoli, NY) finished as the top rider in the novice equitation on the flat class.
Janine Ordway (Long Valley, NJ) rounded out top finishers for the Mustangs with a blue ribbon on the advanced walk trot canter class.
Eleven riders have qualified for the regional championships on Saturday at Skidmore College, including Featherly in the open equitation on the flat and novice equitation over fences class; Kenney and Northrop in the novice fences and novice flat classes; Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) in the intermediate flat and intermediate over fences class; Emma Monte (East Rochester, NY) in the intermediate equitation on the flat class; Nicole Hallenbeck (Fonda, NY) in novice equitation over fences; Kathryn Curto (Bohemia, NY) in novice equitation on the flat; Kathryn Galyon (Pearl River, NY), Renee Petruzzelli (Clifton Springs, NY) and Katherine Irace (Goshen, NY) in the walk trot canter class, and Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) in the walk trot class.
