The Morrisville State College athletic department has named freshman Lesa Ward (South Glens Falls, NY) and sophomore Kayla Walker (Oneida, NY), its Mustang Co-Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 3.
Ward, midfielder for the women's lacrosse team, contributed to their 2-1 week, netting three goals apiece in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) wins over Abington and St. Elizabeth this weekend.
A health related studies major at Morrisville State, Ward is a 2010 graduate of South Glens Falls High School. She is the daughter of Joanne Civrzynski of South Glens Falls.
Walker, first baseman for the softball team, led the Mustangs to a 2-0 week. In the double-header win over Cobleskill, Walker was 4-for-8 from the plate (.500 batting average), hit a triple, recorded five RBI's, and scored three times. In the field she tallied 25 put outs for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
A criminal justice major at Morrisville State, Walker is a 2009 graduate of Oneida High. She is the daughter of Lisa and Reay Walker of Oneida.
