Morrisville State College and N.Y. State Police Special Operations to Conduct Campus Emergency Drill

Morrisville State College will conduct a large-scale emergency drill on campus in conjunction with the New York State Police (NYSP), New York State University Police, New York State Office of Homeland Security, Madison County Sheriff's Department, and local emergency responders on Wednesday, March 16. This undertaking will allow all organizations to test their emergency preparedness in an economical and effective manner.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team had 11 riders advance to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) semi-final championships following their finish at the regional championships on Sunday. Morrisville State was high point team for the year, claiming regional champion honors.

Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) will hold a workshop on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College on March 21, from 6-9 p.m.
The workshop will help individuals assess their interest in different renewable energy areas, assess what skills they need to prepare for jobs in the field and provide information on how they can personally conserve energy.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 32 team points and placed fourth overall at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition on Saturday.
Jill Featherly (Hilton, NY) earned reserve high point rider honors following her first place sweep in the intermediate equitation over fences and open equitation on the flat classes.

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team opened the 2011 season campaign Saturday afternoon with an 11-10 non-conference victory over visiting SUNY Oswego on Drake Field in Morrisville.
In a back and forth first half battle, Oswego held the 7-6 advantage at the break before Morrisville State tallied four unanswered scores in the third quarter, two on man up opportunities, for the 10-8 lead.

Sitting at a desk enveloped in natural light in a lofty architectural studio, Morrisville State College student Antwon Ward placed the finishing touches on the model of a wooden pavilion he designed in class.
Nearby, a faint buzz of saws filled a hallway along with echoes of voices coming from a grand atrium where students gathered to chat, tweet, and finish homework before class.

The Reading Royals are a member of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League), a Premier “AA” Hockey League.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team posted high point team honors twice in Sunday's show, completing the regular season with an undefeated 8-0 record.
Topping the competition with 251 team points throughout the season, Morrisville State will be representing Zone 2, Region 3 at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) western semi-finals team competition in Findlay, Ohio on March 26th.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball season came to an end Friday night as fourth seed Gallaudet University claimed the 80-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship tournament quarterfinal game over the Mustangs in Middletown, PA.
Morrisville State concludes the 2010-11 campaign with a 12-13 overall record, 10-8 in conference action, appearing the NEAC tournament for the second straight season.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball freshman Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 20.
Scott tallied 44 points, 13 assists, nine steals and 14 rebounds in a 0-2 week for the women's team. Scott netted a collegiate best 27 points in the loss to SUNYIT, hitting 3-of-4 from behind the arc while nailing 8-of-10 from the free throw line.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2010-11 Ice Hockey All-Conference teams, with Morrisville State College's freshman defender, James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT), earning honorable mention honors.
Jarvis completed the season with five goals and 10 assists for 15 points, ranking fifth overall in freshman scoring in the conference, sixth in defenseman scoring. Three of his scores were on the man advantage.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team tallied 39 team points to earn reserve champion show honors Saturday at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) equine event held at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore was show champion with 47 points, followed by Morrisville with 39, Hartwick 29, Albany 18, RPI 18, Siena 18, Cobleskill 18, Colgate, 17, Union 12, and Oneonta 10.

Tickets go on-sale to the general public at the Field House Box Office on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for $5 per person and $2 for SUNY students with valid college identification.

The Mustangs completed the regular season with a 12-12 overall record, 10-8 in conference play, and will face fourth seed Gallaudet University (16-9, 12-6 NEAC) Friday at 5 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

The Mustangs close at 5-20 overall, 5-17 in NEAC play, while Cobleskill improves to 13-12, 12-10 in the conference.
