The best and brightest eleventh- and twelfth-grade student automotive technicians from across the state will race against the clock to correctly identify and fix vehicles that have been “bugged” on purpose. When it is all said and done, one team will drive away the winner of the FORD/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition being held at Morrisville State College on May 15.

Top seeded Morrisville State College and second seed Keuka College each posted victories in the semi-final round to advance to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West Division Women's Lacrosse Championship Final, Sunday, April 29 in Morrisville. Morrisville State (12-4, 9-0 NAC West) advanced with a 19-10 decision over fourth seed Medaille College (8-8, 6-3 NAC West) earlier in the day.

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team clinched the regular season North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) title Saturday evening by defeating Hilbert College 21-10. The Mustangs are now 10-3 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the conference while Hilbert dropped to 5-7 and 4-4.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Division III regional women's lacrosse weekly awards for April 24, naming Morrisville State College freshman goalkeeper, Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, N.Y.) its defensive player of the week.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its player of the week selections, naming Morrisville State student-athlete, Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, N.Y.), its women's lacrosse player of the week for the week ending April 22.

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team completed the 2012 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division schedule with a perfect 9-0 record, claiming their first regular season conference title in the history of the program, and will host the divisional championship tournament Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29.

Receiving the Rays of Light Servant Leadership Award was Thomas Longland, of Dunnville, Ontario, a human performance and health promotion bachelor degree program major. The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse program has teamed up with the Wounded Warriors Project, Saturday April 28th in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action against Hilbert College. Last year the Mustangs raised $4,500 for the Wounded Warriors Project in the first year hosting an event.

Once a day, Pretty Lopin Machine, “Purdie,” gets a 20-minute workout in the large underwater treadmill in Morrisville State College's equine rehabilitation facility. As she walks in a relaxed motion against the resistance of the water, her ears perk in the direction of students coaching her with words of encouragement. “Good girl. You're doing a great job,” said equine student, Cassie Clark, of Rochester, N.Y.

Morrisville State College will host Ag Day on April 19. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most events will be held in the academic quad (in front of Marshall Hall). Participants can learn more about agriculture, pet a calf, guess the weight of a horse, walk through a hay maze, take a hay ride around campus, and sample Morrisville State College's homemade ice cream during the annual event.

Morrisville State College students Thomas Longland, of Dunnville, Ontario, and Adam Houck, of Vernon Center, were recently honored with 2012 SUNY-wide Chancellor's Awards for Student Excellence. The prestigious award is based on outstanding academic achievement and service and leadership on campus and in the community.

The relationships between society, technology and transportation will be the focus of Morrisville State College's sixth annual Science Technology and Society Symposium, “Alternative Futures: Transportation,” taking place Thursday, April 19.
