The event, hosted by the Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC), is one of many the college has planned in celebration of Black History Month.

MORRISVILLE, NY– Morrisville State’s Financial Aid Office will host a SUNY Financial Aid Day information session on Saturday, Feb. 28.
This event, which will be held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in Charlton Hall, Room 002, will offer assistance with questions regarding the financial aid process and completing the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event is targeted for incoming freshmen; however it is also open to current and returning students.

MORRISVILLE, NY— There was a common element challenging the seven-member “KThx” team as they ardently worked together to create their video game, “Project: Nightmare.” Each had slept no more than five hours in a 48-hour timeframe.
But it didn’t diminish their excitement or innovativeness during this year’s Global Game Jam ™ (GGJ) held Jan. 23-25 at Morrisville State.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Approximately 800 high school students from 18 schools will have the opportunity to showcase a multitude of skills and talents in the Region II BOCES Skills USA competition being hosted Feb. 13 at Morrisville State.
The annual conference features high school students from technical schools and BOCES programs throughout Central New York competing in a variety of events.

“We are happy to receive this designation,” said Brian Wallenhorst, admissions counselor and member of the college's Veterans Task Force. “We strive to provide transitioning veterans the best possible experience in higher education and do all we can to ensure that they succeed on campus.”

Five Morrisville State students have been awarded Caterpillar/Milton CAT Scholarships by the Morrisville College Foundation.
The $2,500 scholarships, awarded to students in the diesel technology/agricultural engineering programs, are based on academic achievement and financial need.

The college was among 20 SUNY campuses named to the 2014 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Owen Corpin pulled a dark black jacket from the back of a bedroom closet. He lightly dusted off the shoulders and six gold buttons with his hand before straightening the rows of military ribbons above the left pocket.
“It's been years since I've worn it,” Corpin said as he held the jacket of his Navy Blues. “It almost fits all of these years later,” he uttered with a grin that turned bigger as he slipped his arms into the sleeves.

Bruce Bennett gazed at the high-tech equipment that surrounded him as he sent a large piece of wood through a Strength Line Rip Saw in Morrisville State's wood technology facility.
At the opposite end, five students collected the quarter-inch pieces it produced and placed them in a pile. The stack of western red cedar strips will eventually turn into a 16-foot strip canoe being constructed in Bennett's transportation class at West Canada Valley (WCV) High School.

Lawrence J. Baker, of Hamilton, has been reappointed to serve on the College Council at Morrisville State through June 30, 2021.
Baker, who grew up in Utica, worked at Morrisville State College for more than 42 years before retiring in 2004 as assistant to the president for special projects, which included coordinating commencement and emeriti functions.

The Morrisville State College Theater Department and SGO will present “Bus Stop” by William Inge at 8 p.m. on Oct. 24, 25, 30, 31 and Nov. 1, and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC).
This romantic comedy takes place during a blizzard at a diner bus stop in Kansas.
General admission is $7 and $2 for students. Tickets for the performances will be sold at the door.

Morrisville State placed first as the high team overall and as a team in the reasons category at the International Post-Secondary Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held recently at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis.
Team member Evan Castrogiovanni, of Montrose, Pa., was first place overall high individual and overall reasons individual. Evan also was the high individual for the Ayrshire class.

Dr. Joseph Bularzik, of Manlius, has been hired as dean of the School of Science, Technology and Health Studies at Morrisville State.
In his new role, Dr. Bularzik is responsible for the leadership of the school, as well as directing innovative teaching, program development, and assessment strategies.

Stephen Sanders, currently of New Milford, Conn., has been hired as the director and head trainer of the Environmental Training Center (ETC) at Morrisville State.
In the newly created dual role, Sanders will be responsible for both the daily operations and classroom instruction at the ETC, one of the leaders in wastewater and water certification training in New York State. He will assume his position in November.

Ed Stone sat eagerly with a pen in his hand, marking up a sales booklet and keeping a close eye on a couple of his “favorite” Standardbreds as they entered the sale ring.
“I never miss this,” said the Vermont resident who has been making the trip to Morrisville State's Annual Standardbred Sale for 20 years. This year's sale topped all others he has ever seen, breaking records in the top sale of a horse, the college's sale average and overall attendance.
