MORRISVILLE, NY— The best and brightest eleventh- and twelfth-grade student automotive technicians from across the state will race against the clock to correctly identify and fix vehicles that have been “bugged” on purpose.
When it is all said and done, one team will drive away the winner of the FORD/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition being held at Morrisville State on May 8.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students showcased their talents as future business leaders during the New York State Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) Conference hosted recently at the college.
Participants in the conference were able to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and partake in business and business-related competitive events.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Roberta H. Sloan, of Utica, has been named Morrisville State College’s 2015 Distinguished Faculty Award winner.
The award is presented annually to a faculty member who displays professional growth, personal and professional achievement, and has provided outstanding service to the college. She will be recognized during the college’s 104th commencement ceremony on May 9 at 1 p.m. in the recreation center.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College will host Ag Day on April 30.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Most events will be held in the academic quad (in front of Marshall Hall).
Participants can see horses and dairy cows, learn more about agriculture and maple syrup, take a hay ride around campus and sample Morrisville State’s homemade ice cream during the annual event.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College, recently named a Tree Campus USA, will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 24.
The campus and community are invited to join two plantings that will occur on campus from noon-3 p.m. Eastern redbud ‘Rising Sun,’ tulip tree ‘Aureao-marginata,’ and scarlet oak trees will be planted in the Pond Quad portion of campus by horticulture students.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host a fun Milk Run to benefit the experiential learning activities of the agricultural business and dairy science programs on Saturday, May 2.
The event, a 5k run, walk or crawl, will begin at 10 a.m. at Bailey Hall. There will also be a fun run for kids at 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the MSC football stadium. The registration fee is $10.

MORRISVILLE, NY—The Morrisville State Theater Department and SGO will present the romantic musical, “The Fantasticks,” in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC) on March 27, 28, at 8 p.m.; March 29 at 2 p.m.; and April 2, 3, 4, at 8 p.m.
This longest-running Broadway musical tells an allegorical story about two neighboring mothers who plot to get their children to fall in love.

Indoor games, sledding, face painting, carnival games, crafts, an indoor slide and caricatures are among the activities planned during the event, which takes place from 2:30-6:30 at the Morrisville-Eaton Elementary School located on Eaton Street. An open skate will also be held at the IcePlex on the Morrisville State campus, from 2-3 p.m.

Thanks to a new transfer pledge, accepted students transferring with a completed A.A.S. or A.S. degree can transfer with full junior status into an aligned bachelor’s degree program at Morrisville State. The pledge also includes specific guarantees and financial support opportunities.

MORRISVILLE, NY—The Region II BOCES Skills USA competition scheduled for Feb. 13 at Morrisville State has been rescheduled for Feb. 27 due to predicted inclement weather.
Approximately 800 high school students from 18 schools will have the opportunity to showcase a multitude of skills and talents during the annual conference which features high school students from technical schools and BOCES programs throughout Central New York competing in a variety of events.
