The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team earned reserve high point team honors behind a 33 point team performance Saturday at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show held in Otego.
Skidmore won the show with a collective 41 team points. Colgate was third with 32.

The Morrisville State College western equestrian team added another honor to the program's success on Sunday, completing the 2011-12 regular season as the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 2, Region 3 Champions, and advancing eight riders to the national semi-final competition.
Morrisville State is the 2011-12 year end high point team and will represent the region at the semi-finals on March 24 and 25.

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team lost their season opener Saturday afternoon against the visiting Elmira College Golden Eagles, 13-8.
Morrisville State is now 0-1, while the Eagles rise to 1-0 this season.

The Morrisville State College women's softball team improved to 3-1 overall on the season following a double header sweep of SUNY Cobleskill Saturday at the Field of Dreams Sports Complex in Schuyler by final scores of 11-1 and 15-7.
The losses drop the Fighting Tigers to 1-3 on the season.

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team faced their first loss of the season against SUNY Oswego on Saturday afternoon, 15-7.
The Mustangs are now 1-1 while the Lakers are now 1-0.

A local teacher is among those who received the 2012 Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children's TYLENOL® National Child Care Teacher Award.
Cynthia Wickens, of Sherrill, a preschool teacher at the Children's Center at Morrisville State College, Inc., is among 52 recipients, six from New York state, who received the prestigious award which is based on teachers' commitment and dedication to children they serve.

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named men's basketball guard, Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 26.
Gordon was instrumental to the team's success as they claimed the 2012 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship title this weekend, posting two-day totals of 26 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, four steals and six 3-pointers.

Additional information became available this afternoon for the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Regional game between Morrisville State College and Middlebury College.
Tickets for the contest are $6 per adult, $3 for students, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at http://boxoffice.middlebury.edu/index.php or by calling the box office at 802-443-6433. Tickets not purchased by Morrisville State fans will be made available to the general public by noon Thursday.

The Morrisville State College Theatre Department and Student Government Organization (SGO) will present the musical, Cole, in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC) on the Morrisville State College campus.
Show times are: March 16, 17, and 22-24 at 8 p.m. A matinee performance will be held March 18 at 2 p.m.

Morrisville State College will be making their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, and as announced in the selection show held at noon today, will face Middlebury College in the first round of the Regional Bracket.
Morrisville State (19-8) earned the automatic qualifier to the NCAA's after defeating Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Title.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team battled back from a seven point deficit late in the second half to overcome Penn State Harrisburg by a 76-72 final and claim the 2012 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournament Title, earning the institution's first ever bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its 2011-12 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team selections, naming Morrisville State College sophomore Nijah Townsend (Bronx, N.Y. / Harry S. Truman) to its second team.
Townsend led Morrisville State in scoring, averaging 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, as the Mustangs posted an NCAA best 10-15 record, 8-9 in conference action.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its 2011-12 men's basketball end of the season award winners, naming Morrisville State College sophomore forward Mickey Davis (Jamesville, N.Y. / Jamesville-DeWitt) the NEAC Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-5 forward led Morrisville State and the conference in scoring this season, averaging 17.9 points per game, while adding averages of 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Mustangs.

Morrisville State posted an NCAA best 17-8 record, and finished atop the conference with a 14-1 record, earning the overall top seed in the conference championship tournament this season, and the right to host the event.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 26 team points to claim third place at the Skidmore College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational on Saturday, in Saratoga Springs.
Skidmore won the invite with 49 team points, followed by reserve high point team Hartwick with 31.
