MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College, recently named a Tree Campus USA, will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 24.  The campus and community are invited to join two plantings that will occur on campus from noon-3 p.m. Eastern redbud ‘Rising Sun,’ tulip tree ‘Aureao-marginata,’ and scarlet oak trees will be planted in the Pond Quad portion of campus by horticulture students.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Five days a week, Morrisville State College students clad in boots wielding chainsaws and axes, meet in an open field behind the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building in Morrisville.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host a fun Milk Run to benefit the experiential learning activities of the agricultural business and dairy science programs on Saturday, May 2.  The event, a 5k run, walk or crawl, will begin at 10 a.m. at Bailey Hall. There will also be a fun run for kids at 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the MSC football stadium. The registration fee is $10. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— Ithaca Mayor Svante L. Myrick will be the keynote speaker at Morrisville State College’s commencement, which will be held Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m., in the college’s Recreation Center.  Born and raised in Earlville, Myrick was sworn into office in January 2012 and became, at 24, the City of Ithaca’s youngest mayor and first mayor of color. He was first elected to the Common Council at the age of 20 while still a junior at Cornell University. He is one of the youngest mayors in US history and one of the few to be popularly elected by city-wide vote. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Five students from Morrisville State College were among those selected to present at the first SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference (SURC) held recently at the College at Brockport. The conference brought together undergraduate researchers and visual and performing artists as well as their faculty mentors throughout the SUNY system for a full day of activities, including sessions devoted to student presentations, a SUNY Graduate School Fair, and professional development workshops for students and faculty. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— The Morrisville State College Council announced today that four finalists are vying for the top position at the college. The Presidential Search Committee has received nationwide interest from more than 40 qualified candidates.
MORRISVILLE, NY— The work of three artists from Morrisville State College is on display now through May 9 at the Earlville Opera House.  The exhibit, “Changing Landscapes” is a multi-artist installation featuring the work of seven Upstate New York women artists. The exhibit is part of Climates of Change, a Central New York Art Poetry and Theater Festival, in collaboration with the college, which will be held April 13-20 at various venues. The festival will explore the meanings and impacts of climate change within Central New York and beyond.

MORRISVILLE, NY— The best and brightest college students will be showcasing their talents as future business leaders during the second annual New York State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)-Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) leadership conference being hosted at Morrisville State College on Saturday, March 28. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College officials are looking forward to working with two new business partners, Empire Farmstead Brewery, Inc., and K16 Corporation, the first companies approved to operate tax-free in partnership with the college under Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s START-UP NY program.  They are among the latest batch of businesses that are either starting under or expanding under the START-UP NY program, which creates tax-free areas associated with colleges and universities across the state in order to spur economic growth.
