MORRISVILLE, NY—The Morrisville State College Theater Department and Student Government Organization (SGO) will present Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy, “The Importance of Being Earnest,” in the Little Theatre of the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC) on Oct. 23, 24 at 8 p.m.; Oct. 25 at 2 p.m.; and Oct. 29, 30, 31 at 8 p.m.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College professor and Clinton resident Wyatt Galusky has been selected to the New York Council for the Humanities Public Scholars.  Galusky is associate professor and chair of the Humanities Department and coordinator of the science, technology, & society program at MSC. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College held its twenty-sixth annual Standardbred yearling sale, taking in close to $1 million.  The highly anticipated event drew a crowd of potential buyers, sellers, trainers and owners from across the Northeast. MSC’s sale is the only one of its kind in New York State held on a college campus.  A total of 62 yearlings, including 18 owned by the college, were sold at an average of $15,540, up 43 percent from last year’s average bid of $10,715. The sale topper was Royal Pinot, who sold for $55,000. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Reunions, a 5k run and a carnival are some of the featured events during Mustang Weekend at Morrisville State College Sept. 25-27. Activities begin Friday night, Sept. 25 with a 50-year reunion dinner for the class of 1965 and a men’s alumni lacrosse game at 7:30 p.m.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State will hold its twenty-sixth annual Fall Yearling Sale Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. at the college’s Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road.  There are a total of 69 yearlings cataloged for the 2015 sale. Eighteen of them are being sold by the college including two yearlings of Cash Hall; six yearlings of RC Royalty; three yearlings by Conway Hall, three yearlings by Deweycheatumnhowe and one by first crop stallion, Archangel. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will welcome potential students at an open house on Sept. 26.  Students can get answers to questions about admissions, academics, financial aid, athletics, student clubs and organizations and more during the open house which coincides with the college’s annual Mustang Weekend celebration. 

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College’s annual Autumn Review Sale will be held on Sept. 19.  The sale, run by the Morrisville State Dairy Club, will start at 11 a.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building on Eaton Street in Morrisville.  It will be the largest in the 33-year history of the sale, with one hundred and twenty-one lots up for consignment. The majority for sale are Holstein (calves, cows, and embryos), in addition to two Jerseys, two Brown Swiss, one Ayrshire and one Milking Shorthorn. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—It wasn’t the usual summer for Margaret Collins. The Morrisville State College student took a break from her part-time job scooping ice cream and bagging sugary confections to learn about chloride mass balance in lakes.  For 10 weeks, Collins, an individual studies student, was immersed in a paid research internship that measured chloride levels in Cazenovia Lake. 

MORRISVILLE, NY — Today, 16 horses and four donkeys began a new journey. It came in an army of faith, hope and love. For a short time, they are “Lainey’s Horses,” named after Lainey’s Army, the animal organization instrumental in finding them their temporary home at Morrisville State College.  The animals, which came from a home in Stockbridge following complaints of neglect, were welcomed by dozens of MSC faculty, staff and students, who assisted with their arrival this morning. 

MORRISVILLE, NY— The work of Morrisville State College Professor Timothy Gerken will be on display at the 39th Street Gallery at the Gateway Arts Center in Prince George County, Maryland, Sept. 12- Oct. 22. The photography show, titled “Contradictions and that Line about Self-Destruction,” aims at trying to understand the way people organize or structure their lives.  Gerken, a writer and photographer, lives in Garrattsville, located in the Leatherstocking region of Central New York.
