Welcome back after our extended spring break, though the circumstances are certainly much different than any of us might have anticipated at the beginning of the semester. As students, faculty and staff adjust to distance learning, there are a few announcements we want to share with all employees.

We are aware of concern among our neighbors in Morrisville about students returning to campus in the midst of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.
More than 90 percent of our students have returned home and will not be coming back to campus. The few students who are here currently remained through spring break, which began two weeks ago.

Until further notice, all campus residence halls, dining halls and other facilities will remain open to serve students in a safe and healthy environment for those students who choose to stay on campus. Tuition and fees charged to student accounts will continue to support these activities.

Residence Halls are closing for Spring Break from Saturday, March 14, 2020, at noon until Sunday, March 22, 2020, at noon. Students who wish to stay on campus during spring break may do so. Please notify Residence Life by emailing reslife@morrisville.edu.

Cuomo’s announcement that all SUNY and CUNY institutions immediately develop plans to transition courses wherever possible to remote instruction including distance learning and online in response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), effective Thursday, March 19.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — SUNY Morrisville’s woods sport team is readying for its lumberjack season, which starts with a competition Saturday, March 7. The free contest will be held inside the college’s Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — The cruiser of a fallen police officer will soon find its permanent home at the Discovery Center Story Garden, in Johnson City, thanks to SUNY Morrisville’s Automotive Department.
Faculty, staff and students are preparing the car of Johnson City police officer David “DW” Smith, who was killed in the line of duty in March 2014, to be donated to the Discovery Center Story Garden.
