Updated May 19, 2020: In response to the COVID-19 crisis, funds will soon be available through the CARES Act to award emergency grants to students for their expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus. Eligible expenses include food, housing, utilities, childcare, transportation, technology and other course materials.
An application is available online. SUNY Morrisville students who feel they may qualify are encouraged to complete the CARES Act Emergency Funding Application through Web for Students. SUNY Morrisville has determined an estimated total of 2681 students at the institution may be eligible to participate in the program under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial assistance to students under the Section 1800(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
Award amounts will vary depending on student need, circumstances, and available funds. Submitting an application does not make you eligible for an award. SUNY Morrisville’s CARES Act Committee will begin reviewing applications after the priority deadline May 29, 2020. Notifications will be sent to awardees in the order in which the applications are received. Further questions should be direct to CARES@morrisville.edu.
