The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has announced its players of the week for September 1, naming Morrisville State College sophomore
Tyler Dunworth (Poestenkill, N.Y.) its Special Teams Player of the Week.
Dunworth, a running back and punter for the Mustangs, was selected after controlling field position for the Mustangs during the season opening 9-7 defeat to Wilkes University.

The SUNY Canton women’s soccer team scored their first goal of the season just 1:19 into the opening half and never looked back as they rolled over Morrisville State College 6-0 in the first round of the Canton Tournament on Saturday.

The Morrisville State College women’s volleyball team opened the 2012 season with two losses Saturday afternoon, falling by match scores of 3-0 to both Hilbert College and D’Youville College in the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) – North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Challenge held at D’Youville.

Host Ithaca College scored four times in each half to top visiting Morrisville State College field hockey by a final 8-1 Saturday afternoon in the season opener for the Mustangs.
Morrisville State’s lone goal was scored late in the second half by senior forward Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, N.Y.).
Julia Conroy led the Bombers with three goals while teammate Amber Foose added two more scores.

After playing a scoreless game for most of the first half, SUNY Potsdam men’s soccer scored twice late in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. Potsdam would score again early in the second half before Morrisville State fought back with two of their own goals. Unfortunately, the Mustangs surge came up short as they fell to Potsdam 3-2 in the first round of the Potsdam College Cup.

The Morrisville State College volleyball program is looking forward to moving in a new direction in 2012, under guidance of new head coach Fred Wallace.
Early on, the squad has been hard at work becoming familiar with newcomers to the team this season, as well as new systems that are being put into place. With a solid group returning to the roster, Wallace believes that the newcomers will also have a real shot at seeing time on the court.

Morrisville State College is ready to show college searching students just what they are all about, as it hosts open houses on Oct. 20 and Nov. 10 in the Automotive Technology Building. There will be numerous activities planned throughout the day to help students find out more about MSC, along with advisement in the college search process.

Third year head coach Kyle Graves (12-16-5 overall record, two seasons) has announced senior striker Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, Md.) as the Morrisville State men’s soccer teams’ lone captain for the 2012 season.
A two-time all-conference team selection at striker, Pierre-Louis has appeared in 44 games for the Mustangs and has recorded 18 goals and three assists for a total of 39 points in three seasons.

The Morrisville State College men’s soccer is itching for the season to get underway and is prepared to hit the ground running as they open the 2012 schedule on the road at the SUNY Potsdam College Cup tournament Saturday, September 1.
Morrisville State is looking to improve upon its .500 mark recorded last season, returning 10 solid players and adding 15 talented newcomers.

Morrisville State College head volleyball coach, Fred Wallace, has announced the addition of Juleah Vedder as assistant coach of the women’s program for the 2012-13 season.
Vedder comes to Morrisville State from Westmoreland High School, where she served as assistant coach for the varsity program last year.

A team of four-legged favorites moved into Morrisville State College's building for the duration of The Great New York State Fair which runs Aug. 23-Sept. 3.
Fair-goers can learn more about the horses; a Belgian gelding, a Percheron mare, a Standardbred brood mare with a filly foal, and a Paint cross, at the college's building located near Gate 4 by the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Iroquois Indian Village.

Morrisville State College fall student-athletes took a break during preseason workouts Friday to assist with new student move in day on the campus, kicking off the 2012-13 athletic department community service efforts for the upcoming year.
Student-athletes from the field hockey, football and men’s soccer programs offered assistance unloading moving trucks and helping new students move items into their dorm rooms, as Morrisville State welcomed the class of 2016.

The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released its preseason football coaches poll, selecting Morrisville State College to finish eighth overall in league play in 2012.
The Mustangs compiled a 1-9 overall record in 2011, 1-8 in the NJAC, posting the league win over Western Connecticut State.
