MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College will host more than 1,000 high school junior boys and staff at this year’s American Legion Boys State government camp June 26-July 2. Attendees were chosen based on their exceptional qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service to their schools.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Meghan Gaffney had little reservation about climbing the 10 kW wind turbine high on a hilltop at the Morrisville State College dairy complex.  “I was a little nervous, but I’ve done this before,” the Sauquoit resident and recent MSC grad said with confidence after she descended the giant structure that pokes 120-feet into the sky. 
MORRISVILLE, NY–– Morrisville State College recently hosted its annual two-day 4-H Equine and Dairy Camp. As expected, the event attracted many of the local youth ranging from ages 13-19.  The camp featured a slew of choices for equine and dairy participants. Dairy topics included calf, heifer and cow management along with reproduction. The equine topics included Western, English, Racing and Draft/Driving. Morrisville faculty and other industry professionals facilitated the hands-on experience. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Four Morrisville State College culinary arts students recently attended the New York State Beef Industry Council Culinary Beef Tour and Competition in Canandaigua. The students: Samantha Whittaker, of Brookfield; Kelly Thorn, of Cazenovia; Emily Cirbus, of DeRuyter; and Ariell Mack, of Amityville; attended the beef tour, which included stops at the Culinary and Wine Center and Wilson Beef Farm in Canandaigua.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Area youth interested in equine and dairy will converge on the Morrisville State College campus June 3 and 4, for a two-day 4–H Equine and Dairy 101 Camp.  The camp gives 4-H youths, ages 13-19 from across the state, the opportunity to learn more about the equine and dairy industries, career options in the field, educational opportunities offered at the college, and to see the college’s state-of-the-art facilities. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Liz Moran, of Cazenovia, has been appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to serve on the College Council at Morrisville State College.
MORRISVILLE, NY— A Morrisville State College horse came home a champion from the 2016 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Horse Show. Rex, a horse in the college’s hunt seat program, tied for Highpoint Horse during the event held in Lexington, Ky. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— George Blankson has big plans with the residential construction degree he earned from Morrisville State College today. The Ghana native plans to return to his homeland to build an orphanage.  His hope is to give children what he found at Morrisville State College. “Opportunity. There is a lot of opportunity at this college and with all I have learned, I hope to make things better for other children so they don’t have to struggle like I did.”
MORRISVILLE, NY— Robert M. Simpson, president of the CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CEO), was presented the President’s Medal of Distinction Award during Morrisville State College’s 105th commencement ceremony.  The medal is a new recognition award presented to citizens of the region, state, or nation for their significant service, leadership, and professional achievements. It is the highest non-degree honor awarded by the college.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students showcased their talents as future business leaders during the New York State Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) Conference hosted recently at SUNY Oswego.  Participants in the conference were able to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and partake in business and business-related competitive events.
