MORRISVILLE, NY—Area youth interested in equine and dairy will converge on the Morrisville State College campus June 3 and 4, for a two-day 4–H Equine and Dairy 101 Camp.  The camp gives 4-H youths, ages 13-19 from across the state, the opportunity to learn more about the equine and dairy industries, career options in the field, educational opportunities offered at the college, and to see the college’s state-of-the-art facilities. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Liz Moran, of Cazenovia, has been appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to serve on the College Council at Morrisville State College.
MORRISVILLE, NY— A Morrisville State College horse came home a champion from the 2016 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Horse Show. Rex, a horse in the college’s hunt seat program, tied for Highpoint Horse during the event held in Lexington, Ky. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— George Blankson has big plans with the residential construction degree he earned from Morrisville State College today. The Ghana native plans to return to his homeland to build an orphanage.  His hope is to give children what he found at Morrisville State College. “Opportunity. There is a lot of opportunity at this college and with all I have learned, I hope to make things better for other children so they don’t have to struggle like I did.”
MORRISVILLE, NY— Robert M. Simpson, president of the CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CEO), was presented the President’s Medal of Distinction Award during Morrisville State College’s 105th commencement ceremony.  The medal is a new recognition award presented to citizens of the region, state, or nation for their significant service, leadership, and professional achievements. It is the highest non-degree honor awarded by the college.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students showcased their talents as future business leaders during the New York State Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) Conference hosted recently at SUNY Oswego.  Participants in the conference were able to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks, and partake in business and business-related competitive events. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College employees Christian Martin, of Erieville, and Scott Doty, of Cato, both senior dining services managers with the Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC), have been chosen to participate in two separate 2016 National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) Institutes.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College students were recently honored at the School of Liberal Arts Banquet.  The Theater Participant-of-the-Year was awarded to Benjamin Korpiel, of Canandaigua, an agricultural business student. Korpiel was an integral part of the college’s theater productions, landing the lead role in the last four plays. The School of Liberal Arts Athlete-of-the-Year was presented to Sammy Diaz, of Dansville, a second-year applied psychology major. Diaz is a member of the football team and plays wide receiver, corner and special teams.
MORRISVILLE, NY—From as far back as he can remember, Morrisville State College Professor Walid Shayya has been fascinated with technology, solving mathematical dilemmas and figuring out how different gadgets work.  That curiosity eventually found an outlet in agricultural engineering, a career that’s taken him all over the world and has earned him numerous accolades.  Most recently, Shayya, professor of natural resources engineering, received Morrisville State College’s 2016 Distinguished Faculty Award.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host its annual Ag Day celebration on April 21. Neighbors will be able to get up close and personal with farm animals of all shapes and sizes, including horses, sheep and dairy cows. Attendees will also be able to sample MSC’s homemade ice cream during the event. The attractions will be set up on the academic quad from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Several area elementary schools will be on campus for the event, which will include touring campus facilities and learning about farm animals and agriculture.
