Morrisville State College to host Mustang Weekend

MORRISVILLE, NY—Reunions, a 5k run, walk, and a carnival are some of the featured events during Mustang Weekend at Morrisville State College Sept. 30-Oct. 2. 

Activities begin Friday night, Sept. 30, with a 50-year reunion dinner for the class of 1966 and a men’s alumni lacrosse game at 8 p.m.

Saturday morning starts off with an alumni breakfast, followed by a Wellness Fitness 5k run/walk, 3K walk for families and 1K walk with strollers at 9 a.m., an open house at the wildlife museum in Bicknell Hall until 5 p.m. and a plant sale in the Spader Horticulture Complex. Other activities that day include tours of the aquaculture center, an antique tractor show, a campus community picnic and carnival, and fireworks.

New this year, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Spader Horticulture Complex, homeowners can bring a photo of their landscaping and receive advice from faculty and students on how to improve it. 

Saturday highlights also include a cruise-in, from noon-3 p.m., at the automotive technology building. The Morrisville Mustangs take on Alfred University during a homecoming football game at 1 p.m. on Drake Field. 

Included in the weekend roster are an environmental expo, musical entertainment and sampling of NYS products from Nelson Farms. 

The weekend’s events are open to students, family members, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the local community. The event coincides with the college’s open house on Saturday, Oct. 1.
