MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College has made the grade again. The college has been ranked No. 29 among the Best Regional Colleges in the North in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2018 issue, a publication renowned for its higher education rankings. Morrisville State College is also at No. 13 in the Top Public Schools, Regional Colleges North in the 2018 Best Colleges rankings. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—The Morrisville State College Dairy Club is set to host its annual Autumn Review Sale on Saturday, Sept. 16.  The sale, entering its 35th year, begins at 11 a.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Madison County Building on Eaton Street in Morrisville. One hundred live lots consisting mainly of Holstein cattle will be up for consignment, in addition to five embryo lots, two Jerseys, two Brown Swiss, one Ayrshire, one Guernsey and one Milking Shorthorn. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will host its annual Fall Yearling Sale Sunday, Sept. 17 at noon at the college’s Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road.  The highly anticipated event draws a crowd of potential buyers, sellers, trainers and owners from across the Northeast. MSC’s sale is the only one of its kind in New York State on a college campus. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College president Dr. David E. Rogers joined Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball and State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon at the Great New York State Fair to launch its first-ever Agriculture Career Day on Friday morning.  The aim is to interest young people excited about the many possibilities for future jobs in the industry. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College student Ashley Mount and a lamb named “Steve” took top honors at the 2017 Erie County Fair Market Lamb show.  “Steve” is a crossbreed wether bred selected as Grand Champion Market Lamb at the fair, where he was shown by Mount, an agriculture business development student from Towanda, Pa. Throughout the summer, MSC students have joined Corey Hayes, assistant professor of agricultural business, in showing the college-owned livestock, as well as livestock from Hayes’ business Emerald-View Southdowns.
MORRISVILLE, NY—More than 1,200 incoming freshmen and transfer students will be welcomed on-campus as Morrisville State College celebrates Welcome Weekend Aug. 24-27. Classes begin Aug. 28 at both the Morrisville and Norwich campuses. ONCAMPUS SUNY is welcoming 39 students for the fall semester, hailing from China, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and South Korea. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will have a strong presence again this year at the Great New York State Fair, featuring a handcrafted scale-model canoe, a student-built hot rod, horses and renewable energy and hemp displays. The fair runs Aug. 23-Sept. 4.  Fairgoers can learn about renewable energy, horses and horsepower inside the MSC building (Bartlett Barn), located near Gate 4 by the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Iroquois Indian Village. Horses from various equine programs will be housed in the building throughout the duration of the fair. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Two staff members from the Children’s Center at Morrisville State College were recently honored with statewide awards as the center also claimed national reaccreditation. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—As part of Morrisville State College’s annual celebration of academic excellence, students from the School of Science, Technology and Health Studies were honored for their outstanding achievements. More than 175 students were recognized on the school’s academic honors list during the annual awards dinner, where 22 awards and scholarships were also presented. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—Jenna Doktor, of Corfu, and Savannah Short, of Coram, have received the 2017-18 Bridget Kate Publicover Scholarship, awarded annually by the Morrisville College Foundation to students majoring in an equine program.
