MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College’s annual Autumn Review Sale grossed $206,025 with 106 live lots, 43 milking lots, five embryo lots and one semen lot. The average per live lot was $1,897. The high lot went for $6,100. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—The Morrisville State College Theater Department and Student Government Organization (SGO) will present Neil Simon’s comic classic “The Odd Couple Female Version,” Oct. 21-22 at 8 p.m., Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. and Oct. 27-29 at 8 p.m. in the STUAC theatre.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Butter making and a pedal tractor pull for kids are some of the attractions lined up for Ag Day at Morrisville State College Oct. 6, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. More than 1,000 students from area schools are expected to attend the event which is free and open to the public.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Assemblymember Donna A. Lupardo visited the Morrisville State College campus where she hosted a forum on the enormous economic potential of industrial hemp for New York State.  “The crop can become a full-scale industry with agricultural, processing and economic potential in our own backyard,” said Lupardo, who sponsored legislation to allow hemp to be grown in the state. 

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College’s annual Autumn Review Sale will be held on Sept. 24.  The sale, run by the Morrisville State Dairy Club, will start at 11 a.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building on Eaton Street in Morrisville. 

MORRISVILLE, NY— Another successful annual yearling sale is in the books.  Morrisville State College held its annual yearling sale Sept. 17 at the college’s Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road.  Once again, the highly anticipated event drew a crowd of potential buyers, sellers, trainers and owners from across the Northeast. MSC’s sale is the only one of its kind in New York State held on a college campus.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Reunions, a 5k run, walk, and a carnival are some of the featured events during Mustang Weekend at Morrisville State College Sept. 30-Oct. 2.  Activities begin Friday night, Sept. 30, with a 50-year reunion dinner for the class of 1966 and a men’s alumni lacrosse game at 8 p.m.

The college has moved up 12 spots from last year to No. 21 among the Best Regional Colleges in the North in the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges 2017 issue, a publication renowned for its higher education rankings. Morrisville State College remains at No. 12 in the Top Public Schools, Regional Colleges North in the 2017 Best Colleges rankings.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College showcased its business savvy, taking home several accolades from the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference held recently in Atlanta, Ga. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will have a strong presence again this year at the New York State Fair, featuring a car, horses, chair massages, renewable energy—even ice cream. The fair runs Aug. 25-Sept. 5.  Fairgoers can learn about horses and horsepower inside the MSC building, located near Gate 4 by the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Iroquois Indian Village. Horses from various equine programs will be housed in the building throughout the duration of the fair. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College will welcome a new class of freshmen, transfer and returning students during Welcome Weekend Aug. 25-28. Classes begin Aug. 29 at both the Morrisville and Norwich campuses. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Robert Blanchet, of Cazenovia, is Morrisville State College’s new dean of admissions. Blanchet is responsible for all aspects of the college’s enrollment program including recruitment, admissions, financial aid and matriculation activities. Some of his initial objectives are to develop and implement recruitment and marketing strategies to meet enrollment targets, and to provide effective data analysis to support marketing and enrollment decisions.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Barry Spriggs, of DeRuyter, has been named provost of Morrisville State College. In his new position, Spriggs will take on all aspects of Morrisville’s academic and budgetary affairs, and set academic priorities. He will also supervise athletics and student services.  Spriggs has more than 29 years of experience in higher education and has worked at five universities. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Graham Garner, of Earlville, has been named executive director of communications and marketing at Morrisville State College.  In his new position, Garner leads the internal and external communications, media relations and marketing efforts and serves as the chief communications officer. 

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College will host more than 1,000 high school junior boys and staff at this year’s American Legion Boys State government camp June 26-July 2. Attendees were chosen based on their exceptional qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service to their schools.

MORRISVILLE, NY–– Morrisville State College recently hosted its annual two-day 4-H Equine and Dairy Camp. As expected, the event attracted many of the local youth ranging from ages 13-19. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Meghan Gaffney had little reservation about climbing the 10 kW wind turbine high on a hilltop at the Morrisville State College dairy complex.  “I was a little nervous, but I’ve done this before,” the Sauquoit resident and recent MSC grad said with confidence after she descended the giant structure that pokes 120-feet into the sky. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Four Morrisville State College culinary arts students recently attended the New York State Beef Industry Council Culinary Beef Tour and Competition in Canandaigua. The students: Samantha Whittaker, of Brookfield; Kelly Thorn, of Cazenovia; Emily Cirbus, of DeRuyter; and Ariell Mack, of Amityville; attended the beef tour, which included stops at the Culinary and Wine Center and Wilson Beef Farm in Canandaigua.

MORRISVILLE, NY—Area youth interested in equine and dairy will converge on the Morrisville State College campus June 3 and 4, for a two-day 4–H Equine and Dairy 101 Camp.  The camp gives 4-H youths, ages 13-19 from across the state, the opportunity to learn more about the equine and dairy industries, career options in the field, educational opportunities offered at the college, and to see the college’s state-of-the-art facilities. 

MORRISVILLE, NY—Liz Moran, of Cazenovia, has been appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to serve on the College Council at Morrisville State College.

MORRISVILLE, NY— A Morrisville State College horse came home a champion from the 2016 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Horse Show. Rex, a horse in the college’s hunt seat program, tied for Highpoint Horse during the event held in Lexington, Ky.
